Dave Ramsey . . .

. . . was at the Potter's House (a church) this weekend. The purpose was to have you get control of your finances. I like the guy. His advice is pretty good, but it can pretty much can be summed up with: "Pay down your debts no matter what it takes."

Then I heard they charged $5 for parking.

$5 parking is dumb criticism. The auditorium had to be lit up, aired-up, and the media working in order to accommodate Dave & his 8,000 attendees. And the show was great, by the way - Dave is irreverently brilliant and a decent guy to boot.

Best money that you don't have that you will ever spend, so you can have money later on.

Part of Dave Ramsey's philosophy is that you should have something invested in getting your finances in order. He encourages churches hosting his programs to not provide the class materials free of charge, even those that can't afford it. The idea is that you should make a sacrifice to pay for the class by selling something or cutting out an expense. What he teaches is not real complicated, but it works.

Better than the $60 I paid to park at JerryWorld yesterday!

I've never seen one of his full series, but he seems to be on the right track.

BTW, David Allan Coe was not at the Potter's House this weekend.

My wife wanted to go and I was going to, but they didn't take credit cards, you could only pay with a debit card. Dodged a bullet there!
