Now if they can just get decent water pressure back to the surrounding neighborhoods and taxpayers who paid for it, get rid out all the White Trash in town, and allow decent businesses to move in- we'll be doing good. Oh yeah, and oust Brent Wilson and his "Good 'Ol Boys".....
CF~ You had me on your side till you mentioned the part about Brent Wilson, your so wrong there! Boyd is very blessed to have someone represent our small town, we need more good ole country boys around..
5:01 - I'd argue that one......but they did the best "selling" job on the artificial field to the sports mentality of their community....... Decatur and Bridgeport should learn some things from their neighbors to the south.
......football, NOT fast food (Decatur) and new grocery stores (Bridgeport).......
Yay! more money spent on athletics! Nevermind that lass than half of the resident of wise county will go on to college. Boyd defintely needed an upgrade on facilities, but I doubt it needed this. Now Decatur will press on with their own "WE GOTTA HAVE IT!" silliness. Boyd also spends an avg of $9355/student. Decatur spends $8367/student. State average is $7733. But what is out of whack is that the state average of money spent on INSTRUCTIONAL costs is 60% of the budget. BOTH BOYD & DECATUR spend less on student instruction Boyd spends53% and Decatur 59% on student instruction.... Do we really need to send even more money away from actually teaching these students? All stats taken from greatschools.org. And before you decaturites think your school system is som much better, might wanna check TAKS stats/comparisons on that same website.
Last time I looked Boyd had how many STATE CHAMpS football teams? Decatur has only been as far as State Simi in 76. If DHS or Bhs every wins the big one then they can get Turf. If Decatur very has a winning season then it not because of Coash Story and that bunch.
Look, this artificial turf was rolled into a package of new stadium, etc. Decatur does NOT need a new stadium, and this artificial "grass/turf" is just the newest fad! Look what happened with the "astro turf" years ago that was supposed to be the end to beat all!!! It's a FAD!!! If Decatur is smart, they'll stick with the real deal in turf..and get a new deal as head coach/athletic director. I'm so surprised that Decatur has supported this losing coach for so many years. Isn't the old Decatur mentality that put champions on the field year after year.
Maybe when Decatur and B'port win a few State Championship titles they can upgrade their stadiums. By the way, both of their stadiums are very nice and they should be proud of them. Boyd's old football field was horrible.
I think that Decatur and Bridgeport should combine resources, build a bad ass stadium on the Big Sandy...that way we don't have stadiums sitting empty on Friday nights.
10:06- Great idea!! They do it in the metroplex. Take for example HEB..The Trinity Trojans are the #1 ranked team in the country and have won mumerous state titles and they share a stadium w/ their cross-town rival LD Bell! I say let's join forces and build a "Big Sandy" stadium
I heard Chico was next in line for the new turf. Now that Coach Hart is gone that is all that is needed to win games this year. We all know that the problem was Coach Hart and the turf.
You want to really impress me? I'd love to see Mr. Emshoff and all School Board members at a football practice apologizing to this years team for failing them and not having it ready at the beginning of the season instead of the end. You only had 3 years to plan on building it. Too many delayed votes by the School Board members and dragging feet by the construction company cost this group a very special year! Of course you have plenty of excuses and the perfect scape goat in Mr. Stone! Let's just hope the winter weather doesnt mess it up before it's actually used. I am frustrated for being misled over the entire bond election and stadium construction. Now let's see if you have the integrity to face the kids you failed!
The School Board and Administrators need to show up to a football practice and explain to the team why they failed them. There's no excuse for not having it ready at the beginning of the season instead of the end! You had 3 years....please no more excuses, just admit you dropped the ball!!!

Here comes the bond election in Bridgeport and Decatur....Go Boyd. You guys deserve the spotlight
Well, that ought to stir up the bloggers
Love it! So super excited, Go Jackets! Woot! Woot!
Thats awesome! Congrats to Boyd. Dont cry too much Eagles
Nice field but I have to say Bowie's is a lot nicer and a lot more colorful! But cheers to Boyd for moving into the 21st Century!
bad economy and decreasing property values came at bad time for disd to think about installing turf. oh well. theyre not very good this year anyway.
rather than going to an election, the bisd school board went about installing turf through the backdoor.
the backdoor intruder
Bowie? Do they have football?

boyd still sucks!!
Bowie's field house doesn't have anything on Boyd's new one, though!
2:33 CHECK BOWIE'S RECORD
CF~ You had me on your side till you mentioned the part about Brent Wilson, your so wrong there! Boyd is very blessed to have someone represent our small town, we need more good ole country boys around..
Are we gonna have all that hoopla again? BORING!
Boyd got turf? That shit has got to be photoshopped. They also lead the county in under age pregnancy, pedophilia, and felonious assault.
Double Fake Decatur School Board
Stop posting this or DISD school board will all get a woody.
Who gives a she it what Bowie's got. They live in Bowie.
Nice field, but by looking at the seating I guess not many people will be able to sit.
Surely they're going to put in more bleachers than that.
Yellow is just ugly anyways! Boyd needs to do something about their NASTY water
2:36- I bettin that it would take something, like say a Tornado, to improve and clean up Boyd!!!!!
Congrats to Boyd!
You'all are the leader in Wise County!
I just now sharted my underwear

Priorities, after all!!
Haha. Hope Decatur never gets it. Turf=fail. Just like your good ole Cowgirls.

Nice field....Now they gotta stop the pressbox from sinking and they will have a football field.

I can tell you that no one named Lutrull is on the Boyd School Board
Jerry Howard used to be priniciple of Boyd High.
Whatever that means....

I agree... how long can you keep a coach with a record that cant take you anywhere...?
Boyd.. Congrats...you got what is important to the community
We need more fast food restaraunts i guess...hurry wendy's...open already i want 2 bacon cheeseburgers with mayo only
Actually there is someone named Luttrull on the Boyd school board & he's a great guy!
3:48 - that is hysterical. Doesn't DISD have a woman or two on the board? :-)
Is this Ricky Lee Green Memorial Stadium?
Proud of Boyd ISD and its kids. We got a new new school and this great stadium AND a lower tax rate this year. Good Job and GO JACKETS!!!!!!
Great looking stadium.
Trae Luttrell is on the school board at Boyd.

Great field... small stands. Should have built them bigger and you might have a chance at playoff game revenues.
I don't care if you get turf in Decatur or Bridgeport, or any other town. It won't change this...

What are they spending on those students who do not run fast or jump high but are at school to get an education?
Sounds like Boyd got a winner

11:33 - they only matter to parents who are smart enough to push EDUCATION instead of SPORTS.
No wonder there's a day care 20ft from the Boyd campus..... Wonder how many conceptions are gonna happen on the 50yd line this year!!!!
11:33...They have a nice square pizza and ranch style bean lunch for those children.! Go Uby!!!! You want some cheee!

Brock in Parker County is an Exemplary District. Guess who does not have a football team.
8:47 pm
There were those who tried and those who lied
Some grass fields will be destroyed tonight.
Some athletes injuried due to unplayable conditions.
At least not in Bowie, or Boyd
They are the big boys
I may be divorced and sell used cars but I never lie.
