Hang Around For The Verdict

Wise County was home to the guy who skipped out near the end of his drug trial right before the jury delivered its sentence -- which turned out to be probation. But, sheesh, the guy pictured above went home before the jury delivered its verdict in a sexual assault case and killed himself. He never got to hear the jury read "Not guilty." Oh, my. As a sidenote, I know of at least two Wise County residents that killed themselves when faced with sexual assault of a child allegations.

Sounds like the jury might have gotten the verdict wrong on this one? Just sayin.

I hope he didn't pay his lawyer up front, Oh, wait. That's the only way they will work. It's the rest of us that only get paid after we do a job.

Sounds like the act of a guilty man guilty !!!! I'm just saying!

It sounds like the act of a man who will be condemned for the rest of his life regardless of the verdict. So sad.

We live in a cruel world. Death is easier to contemplate than walking amongst hypocrits for the rest of life.

Can I have his carbon allotment under the cap and trade deal?

Knew deep down that he wasn't guilty, but society would never believe him so he ended it.

What's it say about our justice system...when a guilt ridden man kills himself and the jury says "not guilty"?

It ain't about whats right or wrong, it's what you can prove. Isn't that about it, Barry?

I don't think you can assume his guilt from the suicide. It may be like 4:37 suggested. He may simply not have had faith in the system. He may have known that those convicted of crimes like this are targets in prison. And that is what he may have been afraid to face.

I guess we'll never know.

She's 16 and trampy at the time, unhappily married to an abusive guy and has a one year old. She goes to a bar/restaurant, gets in, spends a couple hours talking to a guy she meets there and leaves with the guy. She puts the moves on him and he goes willingly along. They have sex. The guy was 22 at the time. He'll be 43 when he gets out of prison and will register as a S.O.
