I've got a buddy who just got back from China (probably the only buddy I've ever had that's actually been to China) who just called me with some shocking news:
Liberally Lean has been blocked by the Chinese Government! Yep, he tried to pull it up on the Internets while he was there only to receive an "officially blocked" page. He could get wisecounty.com and American newspapers, but not this blog.
I guess they feared I'd be the Father of The Chinese Revolution of 2010. Or something. But once those Chinese folks figure it out they have been deprived of Random Thoughts, there will more rioting in the streets than in Iran. Bank on it.
But more interesting tidbits:'
- It's a 14 hour flight from San Fransisco.
- Once there, he spent two hours on the plane while "little guys in space suits" came by and took everyone's temperature.
- He was asked if he had seen dead bodies in the streets in the U.S. due to the Swine Flu
- A five star hotel goes for $90
- There are lots of Chines people.

Her prize stud horse regularly breeds the Chinese water polo team also I hear.
The pictures of the almost neekkid girls is the reason for the ban of LLFLDQ in China.

There are tall people in China. Yao Ming would be one of them. I saw Chinese exchange students who were well over 6' tall.
We usually think of Japanese, Koreans, Philipinos and Vietnamese, who are more often shorter than Chinese. However, Dat Nguyen of the Dallas Cowboys is Vietnamese. His playing stats say he was 5'11" tall and 238 pounds.

I did a trip to Beijing, China last December.
A few notes:
Liberally Lean was not blocked at that time. I remember clicking your FEEDJIT link to see of the Chinese flag was showing up - it was. I think I posted something about midgets or cougars, or both. That may have gotten your site blocked.
From San Francisco to Beijing you fly up along the border of Alaska and down along the coast of Siberia down to Beijing. This is to get out of the jet stream. The flight back from Beijing took only 10 hours or so; we flew almost direcly over Tokyo straight back across the ocean back to San Francisco. The flight information screen said that we had a tailwind of like 150 or so MPH.
The air quality was terrible. Standing at one end of the "Bird's Nest", I could barely see the other. This may or may not contribute to global warming or climate change - but it is definitely polluted.
The people were extremely nice.
My hotel lobby had Christmas trees and other decorations and Christmas music playing around the clock.
Girls continue wearing the face masks that everyone put on during the SARS scare (this was before the recent swine flu outbreak). It was almost like they have become a woman's accessory - different colors and designs on them.
Peking duck - not bad.
I bet LL is blocked because you once made mention that you have a picture of the dude standing in front of the tanks in Tiananmen Square. Their filter probably caught that from a previous post, and thus blocked the entire site.
