Pirates Prove Me Wrong

Ok, I predicted Texas Tech failure over Kansas and all they did was go and beat the crap out of them. That makes my happy because it sets up an epic battle on Saturday between unbeaten #1 Texas and unbeaten #6 Texas Tech. ESPN's College Game Day will be there. It's on national TV. Tech hasn't been ranked that high in 32 years. My college football pants are going crazy. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I can't think of any game more important in Tech's history. I haven't seen an opening betting line, but I "bet" it will be Texas -7.5. Edit: Close. Texas opens as a 5 point favorite.

Definitely the most important and maybe most exciting game of the big 12 south...

You know this weekend I was watching college football like 90% of the american male population. And I couldn't help to notice the premiere Sat. night match-up was Ohio St. vs Penn St. A real good match-up on paper, but probably the most boring game to watch, not to mention the 3rd or 4th worst conference right now. 13 - 6? Come on, get real. The Big 12 is where it's at...

This Saturday is going to be NUTS in the Hub...AND if..IF Tech pulls off a win over Texas, this town will damn near implode. Definately the best place in the country to watch a college game Saturday will be Jones AT&T Stadium.

For those of you unaware, Boo-Bear (aka Bu-Bear) has 'Horn fever. He went to the game at the Cotton Bowl, and now he is won-over. He still loves his Bears, and his Bears will probably beat the Aggies in the "Battle of Brazos." (This year will mark the year that BU passes A&M on the list of best teams in Texas). The Longhorns' toughest game will be against the Red Raiders. I'll put the odds at 10-1 that our very own Mr. Green makes efforts to go to Lubbock.

This game shapes up to be a great one. Red Raiders with a great team and the home field advantange, and the 'Horns with a heck of a talented team, coming off a scare at home. A UT win, but close? Hard to pick this one.

I don't think 5 is a good line. This game could be 21-0 in the first quarter...and it could be either team with either score. I wouldn't bet on this one.

I am confident the game (with probably more than 100 passes) will last quite a while...

Major upset in the making. Tech will change-up the BCS Mojo this weekend.

Texas Longhorns...48
Sand Aggys........26

Herbstreit will publicly declare Lubbock as "...the worst Gameday host in the history of ever" and he will then be pelted with approximately 1000 tortillas.

Bobby Knight will be seen on the Tech sideline...until he is ejected for throwing a chair in disgust at the Tech secondary.

The drunken masked rider will be thrown and stomped. 3,000+ students will be arrested for various alcohol related offenses before the end of the game. The remaining sober Tech fans (both of them) will leave the game before the start of the 4th Quarter.

Leach's postgame comments will be comprised exclusively of pirate comments/puns. He will end his portion of the press conference with, "I need a maaaarrrgggarita."
