Stolen From D Magazine

Today, the Texas Solicitor General will argue to the U.S. Supreme Court the state has a right to execute child rapists. It comes one day after Dallas County announced its 16th DNA exoneration, this time for a man who was imprisoned for 23 years for burglary and — (wait for it) – rape.

Isn't it great to know that with todays technology we will be able to execute a guilty person and won't have to answer the stupid question, "But what if he was innocent?"

I was going to ask if you and are the only one's who understand the implications of your story. 8:36 answered that one for me -I weep for the species.

I weep for the victims of violent crime and their families.

Children and old people are the most helpless on earth. Anybody convicted of raping one of these should die for their crime.

And the sooner the better.

Executing someone does nothing for the victim. It is only good for satisfying the vengeance urges of others. It has been long demonstrated that capital punishment does not deter crime. Criminals don't evaluate the odds of execution when committing their crimes. Incarceration is certainly justified, but execution is not. OK - so you'll call me names like "bleeding heart liberal." But your God said that "you shall not kill." So I guess I'm in good company.

12:09, How can a liberal weenie bleeding heart belong to a political party that endorses aborting the innocent and denounce the killing of the guilty? Please answer with a straight face.

You are correct 12:09 - it does nothing for the victims - they are ruined for life, but putting them to death does save other innocents from becoming victims.

Putting these perverts or sickos in prison means you and I pay their bills for the rest of their lives.

How much sense does that make?

God bless the Supreme Court ruling today. Let the executions begin again. How many innocent men or women on death row were found to be not guilty during the time the Supreme Court was ruling on this? The answer would be NONE.

I'd like to have the stats on repeat sexual offenders. Some of you legal folks have those handy?

12:09, Are you still trying to rationalize your thought process? We would like to hear your answer.
