- It's a little old news, but I dogged a prosecutor last year but last night he came back to defend himself.
- Wouldn't running for President be a beating?
- The Correspondence Dinner was last night. So far clips are filtering out and they are pretty funny. Check out Mitt Romney if you can find him. And Dick Cheney showed up in his fishing hat and reflective sunglasses.
- CPS spokesperson Marleigh Meisner (who is on TV all the time in connection with the "Polygamist Compound") used to be the spokesperson for CPS in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She does a good job. I don't believer her, but she does a good job.
- Speaking of the Compound, the initial hearing today will be a logistical nightmare. And there is no way CPS can justify the removal of every child.
-Worst end zone spike by Dallas Desperado ever.
- Hey, now.
- At least 42 dead in Iraq yesterday. It's going well.
- Ok, some people got p.o.'d at me for letting the "n" word go through in the comments yesterday. That's always been my unwritten policy. I think racism is prevalent and widespread. I'm just trying to demomstrate it. You can hear that language at the coffee shop if you'll just listen.
- Something seems odd about a Catholic mass being held in a stadium normally occupied by hot dogs and beer.

Due to my job it is often too wet to work(or sometimes too pretty) so I've spent a little time in area coffee shops. I keep hearing about the racist pig-dog one where you hear all kinds of juicy evility constantly and with no sense of moral restraint-where is this magical place, where the N word flows like honey and the beer like wine?
Oh,that's what an internet bride looks like.
Hey, Ma! Here's a picture of me and my new whore, er, wife!!
This just in,proof of bigger things than what's under our noses in the WC. Israel is readying for war with Iran with the largest wargame in their history. Iran has been run into the ground by ahmadinajad and as a crazy, muslim megalomaniac he might do anything to get the heat off himself(plus he is a true believer in the destruction of Israel). The Israelis have indicated if we don't strike Iran, they will. Syria is also conducting war games related to a new war in the region and is readying civil defence mechanisms. Casualties would be in the thousands in the first 72 hours.Missiles set to strike Israel alone will number in the 10s of thousands in an Iranian retaliation. Congress just approved an emergency spend for upgrading the b2 to carry new bunker buster bombs. Not news you say? Oh,I'm sorry, did I think to mention Syrian military intel. suggests this will happen between 1May and the end of June. Been good knowing you suckers.
hey barry, how many died in Washington DC last nigh, or new orleans
CPS can justify removing every child because they do not get strait answers from the stepford wife mothers. There is no traditional family. The children are raised as group by the community. Their is no defined family. Some do not know who their parents are or their birth date.
You can not interview the children
with the mothers coaching the answers.
is it correspondence or correspondents' dinner??
100 years from now people the world over, especially in the middle east will be building shrines to the US in appreciation.
Thanks for being our moral compass, BG (tongue ripping through cheek). Something is wrong in our fair nirvana, but no one is perfect.
About the end zone spike--are they allowed to do that after a touchdown? If so, why the penalty flags? The bounce was accidental, and stuff like that in sports is just "tough luck"--"rub some dirt on it", etc. Right?
8:31, that sounds like "it takes a village" by Hillary
but i guess its ok if government forces it on us
Racism is alive and well. Heard an earful of it at Tater Junction just the other day.
damn it, now i have to go watch the end zone spike
thanks alot 8:41
On December 21 2012 we'll all look alike.
Re: Prosecutors Posting on Message Boards.
Barry, I don't do criminal law, but does a statement by an asst DA qualify as an admission by a party opponent? In civil law it can.
Barry - Please I would ask that you give an explanation as to why some of your thoughts on the validity of laws cannot be used to invoke change. There are many laws that are flat unfair. I think I am correct that those laws are held in place for a reason.
1. The outrageous nature of some of them bring about sensational media attention.
2. They are controversial such that individuals caught in them will spend their "life savings" on a matter of principal.
3. There are monetary rewards to be sought in this "litigation happy" country that we live in and there is no filter of right vs wrong before lawsuits are filed.
As you can imagine all 3 of these things are "blood in the water" for your brethren.
1. Lawyers love media attention - see also the Texas Hammer
2. Lawyers also love to take your "life savings" - see also any lawyer with breath in his body
3. The tremendous number of lawyers today need an ever escalating number of lawsuits upon which the whole lot can feed.
Am I missing something? aren't most of these idiotic laws on the books because they create job opportunities for lawyers? and the ones who are willing to break the bounds of truth, morality anf fairness are the ones who will bring home the fattest paycheck?
Barry - I do disagree with some of the more liberal views you hold but I do think you are the only lawyer I know who does have some heart for people.
Please help us lowly peasants to understand how we could help to change some of these issues......
Its ok to have a Catholic Mass where hot dogs and beer are normally served. Wine is used during a Catholic Mass.
reference the wedding pic, one song comes to mind, " I'm in love with a stripper" -
Oh baby, tis' time for some sweet McLovin'.
I'm sure that since the bride was wearing white (what little was there), she was properly virginal before her wedding!!
There is a difference between "it takes a village" and having 20 moms and one dad.
I see this as TRYING to help these children because they dont know that being told to marry a 50 year old man and have a baby at the age of 13 or 14 is wrong. They have been tought their whole lives that this is what happens and it is fine. Hopefully something good will come of this for these children. I get why they removed all the children while they try to get answers and find out who was abused or is being abused. When this is over and the children go back to the sect hopefully the men and women of the sect will know not to arange marrage untill they are 16 (gosh that is so young). I dont agree with this but as far as I konw they are not keeping anyone from leaving nor forcing anyone to join.
I have alot of questions that the papers just not answering. If they find parents that allowed their 14 year olds to marry will they be charged? The men that they married most certainly would. I know the men have many wives, do the women have many husbands? What age do the young men start getting married? Who are they marring if all the young girls are marring the older men of the sect? If they dont want to have sex with the man they have been aranged to marry but have been tought that they have to is that rape? They dont want to but they are not allowed to say no?
"Ok, some people got p.o.'d at me for letting the "n" word go through in the comments yesterday...I think racism is prevalent and widespread. I'm just trying to demomstrate it."
What a cop out excuse! "Demomstrate it?" (dude, where's your spell check?) Is this your campaign against it? To exhibit it? Everyone knows there's racism -- Obama's running for President and talks about "the white people" daily. Catch his pastor's rant lately? Yeah....they'd be offended by the promotion of the "N" word over here, not vindicated.
It's an awful word. That's why it's called an epithet. Period. But hey, it's your sandbox....
Who do you think invented beer Barry? Monks! And what religious sect are monks Barry? CATHOLIC. And trust me at every Catholic even there is (AT LEAST) beer involved.
What's with all the white guilt. Blacks are the most rascist people in America. Just look at the partial white guy that's running for President and the preacher who is his mentor. Not to mention his wife.
Hey Barry,
Hot Dogs and Beer and Catholics? Nothing wrong there! Haven't you ever heard that if you see 4 Catholics standing around there is bound to be a fifth somewhere?
Hasn't the Pope been briefed on the Constitutional ammendment about seperation of church and baseball?
"Son, when you participate in sporting events, it's not whether you win or lose: it's how drunk you get."
Homer Simpson
I predict: a short marriage, expensive, painful divorce followed by someone drinking themselves to death in a 1 room apartment accomanied by a dog named Buddy-pssst, it's not the one on the left. Oh yeah he'll be illuminated by a single light bulb hanging down from a ropey looking kind of wire they don't make anymore.
If I ever get married (unlikelier? all the time) it would be a deal breaker if my prospective bride declined to wear a dress similar to the one pictured. Then I could turn around at the altar and say to all the attendees "Jealous?... Yeah, you're jealous!"
See, all the guys would be wishing they could have a hot wife in a kicka$$ bridal gown like that, and all the gals would be wishing they could squeeze their big butts into that dress, plus marrying a fine catch like me? Are you kidding?
Anyway, if any fine ladies out there wanna hook up (How YOU doin'?) just let me know and we can start looking for your dress. I'm thinking Frederick's of Hollywood should probably be our first stop.
11:37 I can answer most of your questions. The women have one husband that they share with other wives. There are no younger men. They are kicked out of the compound at age 17-18 so they will not compete with the older men for wives (lookup the lost boys of polygamy on the internet)
At least those kids in that compound have "parents", a mother, a father, instead of the live-in boyfriend/girlfriend approach (no formal commitment to the relationship) that is so common today. You can make a fairly solid argument that there is more tradition/support in that FLDS commune, when you compare it to young adults and those in their 30's and 40's that are on the 2nd or 3rd marriages, who have no concept of where they are trying to take their lives. Talk about dysfunctional, hypocritical, etc., (you add the adjective.)
Which example is better? I say neither. Both are losing propositions.
The guy in that wedding photo looks like that Russian dictator crap head, Putin, I think. He is married but if you need an example of how to make that polygamy gig a viable option, this picture should do it. Am I right?
"You can hear that language at the coffee shop if you'll just listen."
What coffee shop are you hanging out at? Has to be some country a$$ place in Wise County.
I bet you 50 bux that dude is a serviceman who got to know that girl over the internet on a deployment and brought her over from the Phillipines or somewhere.
Looks like an Eastern European mail-order groom.
(thick Slavic accent) "I get papers now? Stay in country?"
Barack Obammy is inexperienced. Inexperienced is another word for young and a young male is a boy. I guess in an around about way, I just called B Hussein a boy. Does that make me a rascist? Whew, this politically correct crap is giving me a headache. I sure am glad I didn't call him a Negro. All those uppity liberal weenies would be on me like white on rice. Uh oh, uppity means arrogant which means elitist. I am so confused. I better stay out of coffee shops.
Homer, I think you've made the most sense of anyone today.
Greggo
I too think racism is prevalent and widespread. And yes, the comments on your blog regularly demonstrate this fact. Along with misogyny, anti-semitism and homophobia.
Now what?
5:26
Your infantile impulse is noted.
If only you would obey your impulse to stay out of coffee shops.
Which half of Obama is black and which is white? Why do so many assume Obama is "black" while ignoring the fact that both his mother and maternal grandparents are white? What makes one white or black or anything else? Try to answer with some modicum of logic.
7:32, Thanks for the advice. I sure don't want to associate with rascists. Besides, I like my coffee at home. I don't want to be called guilty by association. You know like having Jeremiah Wright as a mentor or his association with Bill Ayers or his lovely wife.
But the Pope knows that there is no separation of Church And Beer! A lot of the time, there is no separation from Church and Little Boys!
So if I ran for office, y'all would all judge me on the basis of what my pastor said? That's messed up. As if I have control over what my pastor says! Seriously, that's your gauge telling you who to vote for?
Good one 8:30
10:12, Pretty shallow reasoning. You do have control over which Pastor you choose as a mentor but not what your Pastor says. That is just one of the reasons not to vote for this idiot.
Wonder if this sexy bride got married at Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth?
9:12 - I even had a high profile Wise County lawyer tell me that folks don't really trust lawyers.
Makes me wonder why in the world anybody would want to be in that profession.
A Harris poll indicated 27% of Americans trust lawyers. This is crazy and probably only proves medias affect on our perception of peoples professions. I can assure you unless you work in the judicial system you are unlikey to have interacted with lawyers more than I have. This has given me some things to think about that might make me a little more objective.
Essentially everything they do is based on trust and the things do based on this will be examined in court. They and the system wouldn't last 30 days if there weren't a whole bunch of trustworthy people involved.
Some are better than others and, this is understood to be the way of everything. The real ones hate the schisters as much as anybody.
They are way more likely to save you money and heartache. Somebodies going to be separating you from your money in legal matters and you will get skinned if you even kid yourself about self representation.
Everyone I know that has hired a lawyer they are happy with thinks their lawyer is the one exception to the rule. It just can't be this way or what people think isn't true. If there are ten thousand exceptions to a rule the rule is untrue.
8:21 - I think it's mature reasoning, not shallow!
