Random Friday Morning Thoughts

- "NEW YORK (AFP) - A businessman who sold Viagra-laced chocolate as a food supplement called'Boom' was indicted Wednesday for mail fraud by a federal judge, and faces 20 years in jail if found guilty." There goes my afternoon snack.
- Texas is getting 29 new federal prosecutors. That federal government just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
- The NFL draft is tomorrow. There was a time that I used to stop down for the NFL draft. No more.
- Rhome has certainly replaced New Fairview as the most wheels off community in Wise County.
- And today the great Bud Kennedy of the Star-Telegram gives us a little background on how the now famous agenda came to be.
- The above pic is Denise Richards at the beach last weekend. It's enough to make me want watch "Wild Things" for the 1,000th time just to bring back old memories.
- I'm giving the movie "Once" another shot. I might have dissed it too hastily.
- I'll say for the 100th time: Jim Cramer of of "Mad Money" is a hack and reckless.
- It widespread news by now, but have you seen the video of the homeless man robbing an ROTC cadet who was having a seizure in Dallas? It made The Today Show this morning.
- Watched a documentary the other day called "And The Bible Tells Me So." It was basically about how main stream religion treats gays - and pointed out that a few verses before the Bible calls homosexual conduct an "abomination" that it also said the same thing about eating fish. That Old Testament sure be confusing.
- The Rangers have lost 7 straight and are 7 games out of first place. And it's still April.
- I addition to "at the end of the day", the phrase "why don't you tell me what you really think about it" (after you just have) drives me nuts.
- Edit: Case of the week I just saw: Statue of Baby Jesus qualified as "deadly weapon."

re: federal prosecutors. I understand this is some of the waste, fraud, and abuse John McCain will cut so he can give more tax cuts to rich people and oil companies.

Our little Bare is getting all this attention from the out-of-towners. How will he maintain his meager ego? I'm glad that others are paying attention to the shat storm going on in Rhome. The BS needs to stop!

P.S. It's gotta feel pretty cool to have these folks credit your blog, huh?

Bible thumpers are selective in what they "faithfully interpret".
A passage against homosexuality is gospel, while a passage that clearly indicates that God made men and women BEFORE he made Adam and Eve is totally ignored.

8:29a.m....I've read Genesis a few times, and the verses regarding Creation are pretty clear about Adam being the first man. What are you referring to?...not accusing or arguing...just curious!!

And that photo of Richards is photoshopped, right? Either that, or she's changed a lot since the beach photo of she and Sambora.

denise richards and richie sambora (sic?) now have matching beer guts.

Okay 8:29...went back and read Genesis 1 and 2 again...I see what you're saying (1:27-28 compared to 2:5-7) and will be asking my pastor about it on Sunday:) I'm no Bible scholar, but I have learned that questioning the truths in the Bible usually serve to prove just how cohesive it is.

Way to go Barry!! You got "cited" by Bud Kennedy!! Congrats!! And pretty bad reading skills, 8:29 AM. Regardless of what you think about the Bible--you flunked basic literary skills. You have a general description of an event first, followed by what is GLARINGLY obvious as a more detailed account of an event, and because the second statement comes physiclly after the first statement in the book, you think that one came after the other timewise?

It's really funny you mention the bible verses about the 16 different abominations, most including dietary restrictions. I'm using that in a term paper I'm writing right now.

Could Genisis 2:5-7 be talking about Adam? God created Adam first and he walked through Eden and named the animals and did his thing and God saw he was lonely and put Adam into a deep sleep and removed his rib and from the rib he created Eve.

Note: He took the rib, not the foot so Eve would serve him nor a hair on his head so Eve could be above him BUT the rib, so Eve would be equal to him. LOL
Had to thow that in. Women's Lib. lol

Old Testament is not the only place prohibition against homosexuality is found. Paul writes: ...men with men doing what is shameful...at Romans 1:27. There are all sorts of things that are prohibited in the Bible and two things that are commanded of Believers (love God and love your fellow man). Most of us have our own demons that we struggle with, so it is the rare person who can cast stones about this, or any other identified sinful behavior and thus this is not intended to offend, merely to identify that not all Biblical references to the lifestyle are found in the O.T.

10:02 you said it correct, it was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Basically, I believe in God and I do believe in the teachings of the Bible but.... God reveals to you what he wants you to know and understand. You are not to take anothers opinion over what God lays on your heart.

Although homosexuality is forbidden in the bible, we are also taught not to hate our fellow man. This is something that is between them and God the same as how we live and what we do is between us and God.

I can't say that homosexuality is a born trait nor can I say that it is of the devil. All I can say is I do not care to live that kind of lifestyle but I am not into Country Music either, do I hate the people that are? No.

People with the alternative lifestyle have heard Christians brow beat them for years. They know all of what is said about their lifestyle. They are not dumb, most of them have read the bible.

This is their choice, we all have to pay the price for choices in our lives and for what we do.

I will not judge anyone for how they live or think.

"Judge not least ye be judged"

All I can do is pray for people and love them and ask the same from them. That is about all anyone can do.

Let see, if it is okay to be a homosexual then why not engage in sex with animals? I do not believe in picking and choosing which laws of God one is to obey. Man trys to twist the scriptures to make them work for his own preverted ways.

Before I watch the ROTC cadet getting robbed, in the interest of science I'll speculate the robber is black and the cadet white. Before you jump to any conclusions about racism and all remember this is science and if I'm wrong I'll send some money to Jesse Jackson or something.

I guess the stories about fire and brimstone at Sodom and Gamorrah weren't clear enough

here we go again said...

2:37-------------------------
Keep your cash, dude. Jesse don't need it and your bet was a safe one anyway.
I went late one night to the Dallas bus station and found it teeming with black parasites. Got hit up 4 times for a cigarette before I even got out of my truck. My bad, I shouldn't have been smoking.
I occasionally go to one of the Mexican bus lines out of downtown, and though you'll find a plethora of folks wanting to sell you a taco or raspa, none are just outright bumming.
Tell me again why I should want to deport 12 million hard-working latinos and continue to subsidize niggers' laziness through welfare.

Are you sure that's not Keith Richards body with Denises head plopped on top?

Defendant admits hitting her a few times but, contends he did so to 'calm her down'. Nearly golder than "picked up a Baby Jesus statue and struck her in the head"

For Gods sake the cadet kid was in uniform. I would have killed that animal without hesitation if I'd have caught him.

The God made women and men before adam and eve is ringing a bell as a cultic mantra thing- jehovahs witness? Maybe, unsure couldn't find anything on the subject but, had heard somebody going on about that in the past.

If you are interested, search on line and read "Medical Consequences of What Homosexuals Do" by Paul Cameron, Ph.D. He outlines and explicitly details their sexual practices and how they spread disease. Medium age at death of homosexuals is given as 42 vs. 75 for married men. Medium age at death of divorced men and women is less than 75. Interesting that sex between men and women prolongs life, whereas sex between two men shorten it. Those numbers do not include deaths due to AIDS. God, the ultimate physician, said don't do it. He knew it wasn't healthy long before man discovered bacteria and viruses. His laws are not an obstacle course to prove you are Jewish or Christian.

I just don't understand why some folks want to oversimplify and categorize everything. Those who want to claim that all (or even most) blacks are lazy welfare cases are just wrong. There are far more low income white people on welfare than blacks. There are many low income illegals who work and pay taxes while never qualifying for social security even tho they've been paying into the fund. I know I'll never convince or convert any of those ignorant of the facts, but I'm still distressed that so many of these folks are my Wise Co. neighbors.

Got a family violence conviction once where an illegal immigarant was beat upp be his wife with a virgin mary statue. Blood everywhere and great photos, however didn't file as deadly weapon because of a failure of my imagination.

2:18, that would be different because animals, I would guess, would rather not consent to such said activity. So leave the animals out of that situation. They can't consent.
