So I'm sitting around tonight, uninspired by the lack of news, but I do have a remote interest in the weather since I hear there is a chance of storms.
So I check out Fox 4 and see that Dan Henry casually mentioning that we might see gusts up to 70 mph tonight. (See top graphic.) 70? Freakin' 70? Is Hurricane Katrina coming through? Did the number "70" just show up on the screen and you just "read it"?
And then, seconds later, they put up the graphic for "Overnight" "7 AM" and "4 PM" with the maximum winds at 20.
Color me confused.

It's raining and thundering here in Gawd's country, right at this very minute. Hallelujah.
More sensationalizing the weather! Weather guessing is trying to get too dramatic and Dan Henry really gets on my nerves with his artificial screeching for emphasis. ~~~fingernails across the blackboard~~~!! Oooooff!!!
We traveled between Decatur and Sherman last night for a soccer game, and never saw a drop, let alone a "gust" of wind. Nada. Nothing.
I sent an email to Fox4 about how far he missed it. This was the response I just received...
Hi _____,
While it wasn't totally widespread, we had 4 reports of 60-70 mph winds, 1 report of quarter sized hail, and 3 reports of nickel sized hail.
I'd say it wasn't off by a ton. And it certainly woke most of North Texas up....
Best Wishes,
