In 2007, 18 students in Texas scored a perfect 2400 on the SAT exam.
The racial make-up:
11 - Asian
4 - White
2 - Left Blank
1 - "Other"
Edit: And I wonder what the total percentage of test takers were Asian to start with? Makes the 11 perfect scores even more interesting.

Those Asians are very smart. I realize it every 2 weeks when I get my nails done.
racist
It's no surprise those Asians do so well. During my college years, the few times I visited our library it was full of them. And the many times I visited the local bar I never saw any of them. Screwed up priorities I guess?
R&R would be under "left blank"
12:57 (#1 that is, Oh my gawd, Shut up! And i had to laugh out loud when i read house of r & r's comment
I'm sorry if you thought that was racist. Good Gawd! I was referring to the fact that Asians are very artistic people which makes them fantastic at doing nails. Have you seen the customers that salon gets in Wal-Mart? Very smart to open that business.
I agree with R & R, you've got to be incredibly freakin smart to scrub someone's feet and clip their toe nails.
Don't worry R&R. Apparently we're all racists. ;) You're not alone. I was called a racist because I thought Hillary's old hispanic campaign manager was better looking than her new black campaign manager.
If they are so smart, why are they such bad drivers?
Here's how dumb I am, I thought a perfect score was 1600...made me feel pretty smart to score around a thousand. After reading this...not so much.
To Jarhead...
Be fair, the person corrected themself and told you that you are superficial and have questionable "Christian values." However, they did let you know that all the name calling was done with the sincerest of Christian love when they ended their tirade with "God bless."

To anonymous 2:45...
In March 2005 a new SAT was introduced resulting in 2400 rather than 1600 being a perfect score.
Me love you long time, GI
The SAT added a written section to their test. 1600 was the "old" perfect score. Now it is 1700.
I worked with the mom of one of the white students with a perfect score. The girl is obviously smart, however she has the personality of cardboard.
Me soooo Horny...Me love you loong time
Oooppsssie!
I failed to include a LINK outlining the format of the Modified SAT and how the test arrives at the perfect score of 2400.
Incidentally, I KNOW Elizabeth Fudge who not only scored a PERFECT 2400 on the SAT but also has a WONDERFUL sense of humour and a supremely kind heart.
I LOVE Asians, who else can make me laugh like this....

Well, you're off my list, R&R, for that post. You should have put that second blabbering explanation in your first post to head off the racist rebuttals.
I hope you are current on your McMansion and soccer mom gas-sucking SUV payments, biatch.
Think next time, dearest, (if you are capable of thinking), before you type such things that might be construed as hateful and racist.
2:42 here...
Wow, I'm not as dumb as I thought I was...or I'm half as smart as 11 Asians...whichever.
Well, R&R... I think you should cross 5:08 off of YOUR list if he/she is taking you off of theirs.
Wait, you don't know who 5:08 is... I'm sure you're heartbroken to be taken of his/her list, if, in fact said list actually exists...
So in an act of defiance, I will never read anything that is posted at 5:08 again, just in case it actually is the 5:08 from this topic.
Silicone Alley,
You're a racist too! How dare you laugh at Asians! Next thing you know you'll be making fun of Afro-Americans and Hispanics!!
;)
You're off my list. And BELIEVE ME, SISTER ~ my list really exists and I'm taking you off of it right this second.
There. You're off. Kinda stings, don't it?
Wait... is "Afro-Americans" racist?
Okay, I'm now taking myself off of my own list.
Nice for her, but I am not as impressed with a perfect score as I am with a kid in the 90 to 95 percentile on these tests that also played team sports, was in band, or engaged in other activities, and was squeezing in dates and fun and volunteer stuff that put tremendous demands on their free and study time. There are a lot of kids out there that could get perfect scores if that's all they focused on. Now, show me a kid with a perfect score that ALSO spends about 20 to 30 hours a week on other things besides homework...and that's something! There are probably a few of those.
Maybe it's because the Asians don’t spend all their time pretending to be athletes and actually do their coursework. Not racist, just an observation.
BON will be half-heart-broken with certain poster's posts, if he even bothers to read this crap - and, that's only because he's half-Asian. And I'll damn well bet he's half again better at math than such folks as r&r, probably even jerkhead, the investment wanker.
Absolutely, 5:46PM.
/NOT BON
Last I looked, Silly Alley is still on your list, jarlid. Should I clear my cache to make sure?
Well...what about an asian girl who had a perfect score, did all of her homework, and does nails? Alot of nails..
Well hell, leave it Mzcrap to know. Mzcrap, youre a SOAS.
I'm still laughing at the "I hope you are current on your McMansion and soccer mom gas-sucking SUV payments, biatch." comment. That was funny. The curse won't get me there!
I apoligize if you were offended by my first comment. It was in no way intended to be racist. It just happened to turn out that way to certain people who want to pick and peck at every single word a person says to find something racist, wrong or whatever. Good Lord. You should have a little more confidence in yourself, buddy.
Oh, and thanks for even having me on your list! It was nice knowing ya.
As a retired educator, I think you find those perfect 2400's are not nerds but quite well rounded and participants in a good many activities.
The Asian difference: their families still value education as a means of climbing to the next stage. "having a good senior year" isn't a concern. Having a better life is a force

BG, somehow someway this is all your fault!
To anonymous 6:51...
BRAVO!
Thank you for standing up for the UBER smart, well motivated kids with their eyes on a prize other than boozy weekends and someone with whom to play tonsil hockey their senior year.
Silicone Alley, I don't care that you're a rcaist, do you need a boyfriend?
6:15,
Here's a homework assignment for you: grab a dictionary and look up the word sarcasm.
Next see if you can find sense of humor. Can't find that one?
I'm not a bit surprised.
5:08pm...
unless you walk or pedal everywhere and live in the LBJ off of twigs and berries...
SHUT UP.
I am so freaking tired of pseudo-envrionmentalists going apeshit on everyone who doesn't fit their warped sense of green.
Mzchief,
I have never met the student Elizabeth Fudge. The girl I knew with a perfect score was in the year 2000. She graduated from Richardson, TX. I stand firm that she had the personality of cardboard.
Mzchief - Sprechen sie Deutsch?
A perfect score on the ACT or SAT is great - even better than great. It'll get them to the best of the best colleges, and they'll probably be darn successful.
BUT, to have a well-rounded high school career chock full of extras: sports, extracrriculars, volunteer hours, isn't so bad after all, either.
Let's give both a hand, and accept that this world is full of different people with different values and different goals.
Can't we all just get a long?
