Probably Too Long . . .

. . . but the Star-Telegram looks again at the allegation that Rep. Phil King abuses "legislative continuances." The Wise County Messenger even gets a reference near the end of the story (which is probably the most interesting part.)

We can all be proud of Phil because of the leadership that he now exerts down in Austin. Phil is not just using his position as a lawyer to line his pockets as would be suggested. Just because he signs onto a case and gets paid alot of money, and gets a continuance, it doesn't mean that he was hired for that reason alone. It just so happens that he had it happen 69 times. Yes it does look like that he is talking out of both sides of his mouth most of the time and he is giving inconsistent statements, but he like our Attorney General just can't remember a lot of things that he has done. We can all be proud! Lets re-elect Phil he is our man!

Can you say "utility deregulation"?
Anytime Pill, er, Phil is involved, you can bet your sweet Aunt Lucy he is making a buck off the deal. When I look @ him, I am reminded of what my dear, departed Grandad use to say;"Never trust someone who wears a mustache and is too lazy to shave their WHOLE face."

Yes, and in an effort to protect water rights, he sponsored a bill that protects precious water from home owners and citizens who waste it-unlike the Barnett shale operators he excluded from the bill (now law) who actually USE the water-millions of gallons of it to make money.

Ah, come on, Phil King doing dirty deeds?

No way - he is a religious man who likely brings his Bible to the meetings of the sweet Republican women of Wise County.

Somebody PLEASE run against that man!

I wish Dick Chase would run against this guy. It would be nice to have a good man in office!

Unfortunately it would not matter if Dick Chase or Jesus Christ ran against King. If they run as Democrat in wise Co they would be defeated by non-thinking voters.
