Barry:
You're slipping. Why give space on your classy blog to such a simple-minded comment? You're looking to discredit God somehow. You're gettin' worse, friend.

BSG said...

"Classy?" Have you read some of my stuff?

And, no, I'm not trying to discredit God. (I suspect He will want to "distance" from the comment.) Just trying to make sure everyone realizes that are people out there like the anonymous author. LOTS of people, in fact. Scary.

Why do people think they can add their own "exceptions" to God? I'm a Christian...and this saddens me.

You heard it here first, folks! Condoms and birth control are for whores and sluts. I bet that poster longs for the days of chastity belts.

Do us all a favor and never reproduce.

I didn't realize Barry had put this post here when I responded to it down on the original post. Here is what I wrote:

11:40 One problem I have with your comment is saying that "God causes the miscarry". I don't believe that. God allows it but doesn't cause it. They occur naturally or by other factors, but not caused by God. You are putting God in the abortion business by saying that.

wordkyle said...

At a large company where I used to work, a young lady -- single, late teens or early 20's -- went around to co-workers asking them for money so she could get an abortion because she thought she was pregnant. (She didn't ask me.)

She did this twice.

WRSDemon said...

I find it extremely disturbing to condem someone for having an abortion when the one doing the condeming has never been placed in the same set of circumstances.

Anonymous said...

There ALL Whores...You just have to dig it out of them.

Anonymous said...

m&m, God gave us free will. We invented and allow abortion. He is responsible for us, therefore is in the abortion business.

Its like giving a gun to a known murderer. Saying "Oh well, he kept asking for a gun, I didn't know he was going to shoot those people!" isn't going to get you off the hook. I think God needs to stop passing the buck.

I support abortion rights simply because each abortion that takes place means one less person I will have to compete with 18, 25, 30 years down the line. That abortion might be the one that takes away the guy who would get my job because I spent my day posting on blogs and reading on the internet. I could look at it retroactively as well; maybe some one who was aborted 30 years ago made room for me to prosper, maybe I even took their wife.

Why would God mind a woman being a whore? If a person is one thing or another, is that not God's plan for them? Why are we so good at being selective as to what God plans? We have pegged God as being so intimate with our daily lives and all we do. God "planned" for us to meet so and so, to recover from a particular ailment, or to take nourishment from Sunday afternoon's meat and potatoes, or to spare us from the tornado that went over and killed somebody else. Yet we don't realize how hypocritical it is of us not to also think that God "planned" for so and so to be a slut, or for someone to be jobless, or be a crackhead or whatever. It's either all or nothing.

Anonymous said...

we are all hypocrites in our own right and the fact that this narrow minded selfish ignorant comment was made on abortion proves my point

God said...

devil, I just wanted to say I love you, man. That whole fallen angel thing wasn't my fault. Why don't you have a profile picture up? Holla atcha boi!

Anonymous said...

God doesn't cause women to miscarry.

M&M said...

12:56 You are contradicting yourself. If God forced us to do what he wanted, then he would be responsible for our actions. But, as you say, he gave us free will or agency, thus we are responsible for our own actions, but we do not have any say in what the consequences will be. Your analogy is wrong also. A better one is like the gun manufacturers making guns, but the people who use them are responsible for what they do with them.

god: some days I regret you made me too.

The Devil said...

...Oh, sorry about the pic God...and about the whole fallen angel thing, no hard feelings, you win some you lose some!

There are times I am CERTAIN God MUST be TRULY embarrassed by the TYPE of people who take it upon themselves to SPEAK for God! I cannot BEGIN to imagine how God feels about the THINGS those type of people SPEW!

I understand God would personally conduct an abortion for any Hilton that requested one. This would have to be one of those "exceptional" cases.

Anonymous said...

What a dumb paragraph. And does this religious fanatic think God gave man whores so they could find a way to relieve themselves?

Likely so, with a Scripture verse to prove it.

What a nutcase!

1:33PM, God wills that no one should perish. He allows us complete freedom to choose our path in life, but he does have complete knowledge as to what we will choose and how we will end up in life.

God was the original "pro-choice" advocate since he gave man the ability to choose, however; the modern use of "pro-choice" is a complete distortion of God's original intent of giving us choice. Man has the innate ability to screw anything up. Nevertheless, God allows us to choose and our choices will either bring glory to him or will greatly dishonor him, and our choices will also be either for our good or for our demise.

Gleemonex said...

You heard it here, people: only whores have sex! And even whores only have abortions because they're selfish!

Whew, sure does make all that judging & condemning easier, eh? Why get bogged down in the finer points?

And in re: what God made or did not make, and what agency he does or does not exercise in our lives -- I'm pretty sure that no matter how many people comment on it, we're not gonna solve it, because as this nutzoid ANONYMOUS poster says in his or her closing line, it comes down to what a person BELIEVES. Ain't none of us gonna know the truth till we're taking the Long Siesta, people.

[Barry, my reaction to that comment was pretty much the same as yours ... lots of scary s**t floating around these days, I tell you what.]

After reading all this, I guess its probably OK for Atheists to have abortions.

Can't we all just get a bong?

annie jokely, now that you mention it my glaucoma is acting up.

What people don't realize is all that jive in the Bible that Jesus said was because he was higher than a SR-71 over the USS-I mean Russia. Damn you white people always changing country names. Of course now he doesn't smoke anymore because you humans gave him a god complex, he is worse than Napoleon. All that popularity went to his head.

PS: Everybody that thinks heaven is all violins and kittens are in for a surprise. Since me and the Devil are back in good graces he has loaned me one of the sodomy machines they use down there. I tried it out myself, and I have to say I see why gays like it so much. Now your ticket into heaven comes with free sodomy! Its a special gift for all those homophobes.

Why is it that people get cross whenever anything about God is mentioned on the blog?

Anonymous said...

Now don't all of you feel better now that you have ranted and raved over a comment that is just as ridiculous as all of your usual crap. I know I do, after reading your very intelligent and enthusiastic dribble that you people drone on and on and on about all the time.

mzchief said...

To 8:12...
I do not believe people are angered/upset/cross over the topic of God. However, I become GREATLY annoyed by the MORONIC and SELF SERVING things people say about God. The UNINFORMED and MEAN SPIRITED comment that is the topic of this blog is PRECISELY the type of God's Will WhoHaa that puts ME on the VERGE of having a snot slinging, spit spewing seizure.

It is mind boggling that people HONESTLY believe that God is CONSTANTLY interfering and intervening in EVERYONE's day to day existence.

It is far more sensible to believe that God gave EVERYONE the tools to live a Godly existence and do the BEST they can for themselves and like a parent God is there to LISTEN and should we LISTEN when we pray we will be granted insight to our situation and the strength and ability to deal with our circumstances with GRACE. It also annoys me to NO end that people believe that God is so petty that God is ONLY big enough for ONE religion and that ONE religion believes God is of such insignificance that religion believes that ONLY one religion KNOWS God.

God is BEYOND human comprehension, thus NO ONE knows the heart and intent of God which is why it is called "FAITH IN GOD" and NOT "faith in religion."

I do not know about YOU but I prefer to put MY faith in GOD rather than some mean-spirited MAN MADE club/religion that has MURDERED and condemns people for NOT joining THEIR club/religion.

TXsharon said...

Highly entertaining.

TXsharon said...

Nice comment, mzchief. Completely agree.

It's too bad we are all not as "sensible' as MZguided!

Sorry to cause another seizure MZ, but John 14:6 states very clearly:
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the father, but by me."

Go ahead and espouse your universalism but one day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!

The Devil said...

I love a good debate on religion...somehow it always seems to favor me in the end!!!!

mzchief said...

You quote MAN MADE rules of a MAN MADE club/christian religion that splintered off from an older MAN MADE club/jewish religion.

Say what you will about being misguided but YOUR arrogance that YOU know the ONLY way to God more than likely is FAR more annoying to God than my unwillingness to believe like YOU that God is narrow minded and short sighted.

But hey, IF your faith in myths and fables works for YOU then good for YOU. However, MY faith in GOD works for ME and I am perfectly content with YOU being YOU and ME being ME.

To txsharon...

Thank you.

MzChief:

Let's be careful about painting all churches with a broad brush. Churches were instituted in the Bible (Paul wrote letters to many of them), and that's the way God wants it. Now true, there are churches who have become not much more than social clubs, but there are also churches (like MY church) who believe they are a "hospital" and NOT a "trophy case". we, as a church, minister to the community, support civic events, send money to missionaries around the world, have a clothing ministry, a men's ministry that helps the elderly, and other ministries. The church was made so people would A) have a place to congregate and admonish/encourage one another, and B) to bring other people (Christians and non-Christians) in to hear teachings from the Word of God. Being around other Christians energizes me and encourages me to keep straight on my walk with God.
Are churches perfect? No, because they are made up of humans. but there are Sooo many churches who mean well, love all people and want the world to "have a hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

Hey MZ, I guess one day we will see how well your kind of faith works for you?

In the interim I will serve the one true God not your manufactured God.

Hey 1:47

You know if the Christians are wrong about their beliefs on Heaven and Hell, then they have lost nothing. They will just slip into darkness like all the non-believers and that will be the end of it. But, if the non-believers are wrong about their belief in no afterlife then they have lost everything and will spend an eternity in Hell. I think I'll take my chances with Jesus and if I'm wrong then at least I had faith and comfort that got me through the hard times.

Claiming to have faith in Jesus out of fear and to cover your eternal arse just in case Christians are not mistaken is PATHETIC. However, you are NOT at fault because that is PRECISELY the tactics used by religions to COERCE converts since the DAWN of religion.

Anonymous said...

Hey MZ, at least our arses are covered. You show yours all the time!

TXsharon said...

8:27 Do you work for the Bu$h Administration? They also use fear to manipulate people. Not too Christ like of you and not a good way to win converts.

I think I'll just be the best person I can be and take my chances that God thinks that's good enough.

YOUR who cares how I act and what I say so long as I worship Jesus mindset and attitude is what makes Christianity so very UNappealing and UNacceptable to MOST of the people who ELECT to NOT buy into the Big Book of Myths and Fables.

wordkyle said...

MZChief, are you "anti-Christian" or "anti-religion?" All religions are guilty of the same sins you claim Christians are guilty of. Muslims have their own "Big Book of Myths and Fables," you know.

Are you "anti-Christian" only, because you know you can get away with it? Are your principles based on cowardice?

If not, then where is your angry "anti-Muslim" stance? Are you afraid if you get too militant with them that your body will be found sans head?

mzchief said...

To wordkyle...
Since YOU and I have engaged in past debates wherein I have made QUITE clear my DISTAIN for RELIGION including ISLAM, I can ONLY conclude you either do NOT pay attention and fail to comprehend the content of comments left by others or you are ATTEMPTING to imply something about me that ANY intelligent person who has read my comments on this topic and others would know is UNSUBSTANTIATED.

The ONLY reason I changed my focus from "religion" to "Christianity" is because the person/people to whom I addressed MY response/responses had specifically stated Jesus and quoted from the Christian Big Book of Myths and Fables. My first comments on THIS blog topic CLEARLY indicate I dismiss ALL man made clubs/religions as PURELY a means of controlling people who are either simple minded or brain washed.

Incidentally, people attempting to substantiate the existence of Jesus and the validity of Christianity by quoting the Big Book of Myths and Fables is akin to attempting to prove the existence of "Jolly Old Santa Clause" by quoting the "Night Before Christmas."

If it makes YOU feel better let me make it PERFECTLY clear that I personally believe Muhammad was little more than a self-serving, pedophilic, murdering opportunist, in other words he was a DOUCHEBAG.

Anymore questions?

To-She-Who-Spews-Spittle:

Your short-sighted dismissal of religion, specifically Christianity, is lightweight compared to 2000+ years of faith.

However, you're entitled to your views, even if your wrong (except in Islamic countries.)

Just because people believe something for 2000+ years does NOT mean what they believe is CORRECT such as the ancient Greeks and Romans worshipping their gods for 1000+ years.

Incidentally, the CORRECT spelling of the salutation at the bottom of your comment is: "shalom aleichem."

Aleichem shalom
