Tammy Faye

Just saw a story about her cancer struggle which I had heard about but since forgotten. Shockingly, she wrote over the last couple of days that she now weighs 65 pounds (!) and the doctors are no longer treating her.

Despite all the damage that she and her ex-husband did to the Christian community in the 1980s, that's still sad to hear about what must be incredible suffering.

(And, if interested, check out the documentary about her called "The Eyes Of Tammy Faye.")

I will have to speak with God to see who gets to claim this one. We are full of preachers, ministers, and priests at the moment but she falls slightly out of that realm.

I like her son's documentary on cable, "One Punk Under God". I like Tammy better than old Jim as well. They are all freaks in reality, though.

I can't help it, there's something about her I've always liked. Kinda the same way that there's somehting about Anna Nicole that I always liked. I guess I have a soft spot for train wrecks in false eyelashes.

Reminds me of the 1980's t-shirts with a smudged face that looked like women's make up and under the picture it said, I ran into Tammy Fay at the mall.

Tammy just did in her day what others are doing now (in some churches) - entertainment type worship.

Nothing new there.

I've always felt sorry for Tammy and hope her last days are peaceful and content.
