The police chief says it would not be used as a revenue generator.

Pleeeez.

Greta....my thoughts exactly. I don't know about you but I don't have the big Stupid sign stamped on my forehead

I don't think a public official would lie, especially on TV.

No, but Rhome does.

Those Giant Burgers can get pretty expensive.

Some people might adopt a very unique approach to this. They might elect to avoid this entire issue by driving at or below the posted speed limit. Why is anyone worried about this? If you're speeding, you're speeding.

What a joke. Someone quoted as saying they don't like the cameras because it's "taking money out of my pocket". NO, it's not if you don't speed, idiot. Does anyone read the Messenger? This blog? Has anyone noticed the almost daily death and injury toll on Wise County roads? Hey, if we all knew how to drive safely and at reasonable speeds, maybe cities wouldn't be tired of dead bodies in their ditches, and citizens scared to death of barreling rock haulers. It is proven in spades that Wise County is a dangerous place because of stupid speeders. Good for Rhome. Maybe they've saved a life already. Maybe someone you know. And it won't cost you anything as long as you don't speed through their town.

1:53 I don't drive over the speed limit and I agree with you but don't tell me they are not using it as a revenue generator.

And a city would never set a limit artificially low to ensure that a particular section of road gets its fair share of speeders. Southlake tried that when 114 was widened and slapped with a lawsuit. They later had to refund all the fines they had issued during that time period. Surely Rhome would never do that.

Not to mention speed limits are already artificially low. Thanks to piss poor driver training and the spongy handling and braking of SUVs, it will stay that way to the delight of armed revenue collectors everywhere.

I would only hope that rock haulers would speed. They and slow drivers are the ones that cause accidents.

Now I know where to go for all the answers on anything you would want to know....greta2424. She souunds like she has the insight and has spoke to the chief, city council and anyone else involved and has a informed opinion!
My guess is not. All I know about it is what I saw on channel 8, which sounds ok to me. If you dont want to get a ticket ANYWHERE, do not violate the law.

Maybe if someone was handing out choc kisses she would turn them into kiss our a$$es.
Thanks greta2424 for your informed opinion

More accidents are caused from slow vehicles obstructing traffic on highways than speeding vehicles. Going with the flow of traffic is far safer than being a traffic nazi and making sure those dirty unamerican speeders are safety stuck behind your lumbering vehicle.

You all probably still think that "55" saves lives. Then why has the highway vehicular death rate gone down since the 55MPH speed limit been repealed?

Yep, 2:52
I know everything. Just ask me. Geeez. I don't know everything. Just some things. LOL Can't anyone take a joke anymore? Puffed up is not a good look.

I bet you misunderstood and thought in my 2:39 post that I was saying that Rhome was lying. Sorry, but I was talking about the stupid sign being stamped.

Being a native of Wise County, please forgive me but Rhome and Newark are always going to be yucky and a joke to me. The news that broke this summer about officers operating without credentials completed the top of my chocolate kiss.

first of all half of all the cars out there are not registered to the person driving, and if they are the odds that the address is correct is not very good. So if you sell your car and the new owner does not change the registration until the sticker goes out then you may have a warrant out for speeding if you have moved in the last year. That sounds like fun.

I would also like to find a camera that would do my job for me. Anyone know where i could get one so all I have to do is play on the internet all day?

Don't be upset 4:06PM that some of us have jobs that allow us to do nothing and post comments on the internet. Perhaps if you'd had a better education, you'd have a better job

If you get caught, just send them a picture of a hundred dollar bill.

Anonymous said...

5:19, maybe they will send you a picture of handcuffs

Anonymous said...

I'll send them a picture of my hands.

If they get a picture of me it might be with my COCK in my hand thinkin bout Txsheehan as a virgin ! But that would be a violation cuz she was only 11 years old !

The camera is taking a picture of your front license plate. Next time your driving down a road, take a look at how many people do not have a front license plate. It is illegal in the State of Texas not to have a front license plate, but more people DO NOT have front license plates than DO, so if there is no license plate to get information, who do they send the ticket to?!
