IN light of therecent academic performance, title 9 inquest, and issues involving the athletic dept. staff, I think it might be time for Danny Boy to hear the pipes and "move along little doggie".

That's why you call yourself Goober. Which of the allegations has proven to be true? You're probably as dumb as you sound!!

Anonymous said...

I'm the parent of a female BISD athlete, the allegations alone have dramatically changed things for the BETTER for All GIRLS at BISD!

Henson needs a new job, he has way over stayed his welcome. The program has lost it's class and the kids know he doesn't care about them. It's all about him and the fam!

It is hard to win with your best players on the sidelines! Go Bulls

I don't care if they don't win, but I do not like the way the kids are treated by Bport's AD. He is bad for the boys and worse for the girls.

I agree with Anon 3:50---
There sure have been alot of big changes in girls athletics for no problems to have existed. I say GO, FIGHT, WIN!
BULLS AND SISSIES!

Maybe Bridgeport should schedule Chico and Alvord in the future?

da bull in the pic is faster than most of da bulls...

Goober,
You are 100% correct, the time has come! But it has nothing to do with losing football games.

Sorry, anon. 2:56, but 8 out of 9 responders disagree with you!

Anonymous said...

ok what do you want him to do?

Anonymous said...

I played for Henson and really didn't care for him at all. But the man has done a good job since he has been here and has always managed to make it to the playoffs even if it were with a 4 win season.

Some people need to realize that your kid just isn't worth a damn and it is not going to make a difference no matter who the coach is or was.

You can complain about the other sports not getting enough attention and its true but football keeps his job. What do you expect him to do.

I want him to show some LEADERSHIP!

Anonymous said...

Leadership is setting an example that the kids would do well to follow. Leadership is not allowing assistant coaches to act like 5 year olds and treat kids horrible. Leadership is not allowing a lack of self respect.
Leadership is winning with grace and losing with dignity!
I don't care if we win or lose, but I do care when our coaches have no respect for our kids or even each other. I can think of several good coaches in the area that also have good leadership.
It is just sad to me that Bport seems to think the past record is more important than the kids there now!

Well said Anon 2:00!

AWESOME COMMENT and FABULOUS LESSON!

Me agreeing with you is probably the "kiss of death" but you HONESTLY made a FANTASTIC point!

Cheers to YOU!

Football provides valuable revenue for female athletics and other athletic programs in general, which do not produce enough revenue. At this point, the Bridgeport football program could use some female assistance.

Revenue? Please, high school sports has never been aobut revenue. I'd like to see an accurate balance sheet on the high school football program. (True and complete expenses, ie travel salaries, equipment...... compared to the revenue)

If you were to look at the same information on the girls high school basketball program you would see that per student, girls athletics cost a great deal less.

True, football generates more "revenue", but it costs a great deal more and doesn't come close to paying it's own way. If you want to talk about revenues, you need to look at expenses.

A really interesting figure is the amount per student Bridgeport High School spends on "non-classroom expenses" compared to other schools in the local area and across the state. This information is available from the TEA web-site.

Is it a lack of leadership for a coach to allow a football team to "touch, kiss, fondle" the *@!!s of their school mascot wall mural? Or is it just SICK?
Yes, it happens every Friday in Bridgeport while their fearless leader smiles and watches! Time to Go!

Anonymous said...

If you all focused on driving habits like you do football wise county would be a much safer place !

Anonymous said...

Anon 9:03 If that were true he would not still have a job, in my opinion!

Anonymous said...

I would define that as a SERIOUS lack of leadership! I would hope my kid would not participate! It makes me appreciate the fine men I had for coaches and the ones my kids were lucky enough to have.

Anonymous said...

I taught for many years, if that is happening it would stop. It would be viewed as a lewd act and not acceptable by any resonable administrator. Report it!

Anonymous said...

maybe Barry can give us a free legal opinion....is this a lewd act?

Anonymous said...

NO WONDER THEY ARE LOSING! YUCK!

Anonymous said...

What would the "Football Great" Tom Landry say?

mzchief said...

Oh My!
It happens. I asked a current student ”What goes on with the mascot mural at school on Friday?” ONLY as a 16 year old boy can he said something about "grabbing it's junk" and it happens EVERY Friday. He also affirmed that the coaches KNOW it happens. I did ask for a clarification of the term "junk" and yep it means what I thought it meant, male genitalia.

Hey, look on the bright side, at least they are NOT going to museums and seeing nude paintings and the boys are not wearing girls style jeans!

Geeezzzzz! Bridgeport ISD really SUCKS and BLOWS and will continue to do so as long as BISD allows the "Coaches Mafia" to run things. Bill Thetford, Tom Talley and Danny Henson have a VERY deep and tangled history TOGETHER. The "Good O'l Boy" system has NO business in school administration. Bridgeport will ALWAYS have these types of issues until the PEOPLE wake up and STOP supporting the incestuous local crowd and keep them from running EVERYTHING just because they have money or a name EVERYONE knows.

This explains the difficulty Bport has had with kicking field goals. Did nobody tell them it would make them blind?

Anonymous said...

That is Funny!

He, didn't the mighty, or should I say the "bad news", Bulls lose again last night. How much cussing went on this time. It seems to be getting worse every time they step on the field. I think it is time for Lord Henson to step down. I will gladly lead the parade. Any other "well" wishers? I will even help him pack his bag AND sell the lot he will never be able to build a house on. If he does leave on his own accord then I hope the parents run him out town. But then again, look at his track record for head job interviews. 0-15 over the last 4 years. No one else wants him either. Now that is hilarious!!!

Anonymous said...

Go Danny Go! Go Danny go! And I'm not rooting for him because I think he is a good football coach. I think he needs to pack his bags and go!

Time for you to go Danny! Your coaching ability matches your leadership skills. They both stink!!!

Wow, another stellar performance by the Bulls last night. Everyone talks about the talent they have. Well, how come the coach can't do anything with the talent?
