Great Pic

"Bindi Irwin -- the daughter of Australian environmentalist Steve Irwin -- reads out a speech about her father (pictured on a giant poster) during his memorial service at Australia Zoo. Family, friends, fans and movie stars said a moving final farewell to the 'Crocodile Hunter' in a high-energy memorial service fuelled by laughter, tears and music.(AFP/Pool/Steve Holland)"

Too bad she had such a selfish father. When you have a kid, you need to find some other way of making a living than to deliberately put yourself in death's path constantly. Not talking about policemen, firemen, others that find themselves in dangerous situations. It's different. A fireman doesn't go start fires in order to put them out, and a cop or soldier doesn't go looking for trouble. Irwin purposefully sought deadly situations, and he found one.

Bindi is awesome! I have seen her in several of their shows, and she has such "camera presence"! She did fantastic reading her statement about her dad. All I can say is this--she may be better than her dad when she grows up!! Amazing kid! By the way, one thing I love about Aussies is this--if you try to be politically correct around them, they'll tell you to shove it where the sun doesn't shine (like the time the media went beserk on Steve--didn't matter to the Australians, they just collectively told the media and the rest of the world to stick it in their eye)!! The media tried, but got absolutely NOWHERE with criticizing Steve. Hurray for Aussies!!

I watched that on TV, and I don't understand how that little girl was so cheerful a few weeks after her dad died! Strong kid!

Also, Irwin was a conservationist. He took the risks he did to expose the public to animals we don't normally get exposed to. The way he died wasn't a risky thing. It is extremely rare that a manta ray stings someone, and it is a freak occurrence that it hit him right in the heart.

You're my boy, Steve!

CRIKEY! I'm going to miss him so much. No matter what you thought about him you had to admire his passion for animals and his animated approach to bringing nature to us in a way that had never been done before and will be copied always.

I loved watching his show. I'm going to miss him. He was an awesome guy that did extraordinary things to expose the public to what we are drawn to.......the rare views. He did it well.

I do not think he was selfish at all, as a matter of fact, I think Steve was a very giving man, good father and family man.

He's great. I will never forget the show where his wife gave birth to their son. It was a beautiful moment. I think his wife is just great, too.
