Weather Rant
One thing that drives me crazy (and I'm getting closer to the edge all the time), is weathermen/weatherwomen telling me what the "high" is going to be for tomorrow.
Take for example tomorrow (Friday). You'll hear various newscasts tell you that the "high" will be 52 degrees. BUT, that "high" will come at 6:00 a.m. with the temperature dropping towards the the 30s for the rest of the day. Translation: We're gonna freeze our booties off. Telling me the "high" is going to be 52 doesn't tell me a thing.
One exception to this rule is Channel 8's Troy Dungan (at least for today). But, I still will never forgive him for being absolutely clueless as I watched him on live TV as the tornado hit downtown Fort Worth a few years ago. He was fixated on a storm headed towards Grapevine and had no idea what was going on.

Thats ok. Troy just said some nonsense about it possibly snowing tomorrow. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that if it is 50 degrees outside the snow melts.. jeeeeezzzzzz.........
One thing that drives me crazy (and I live on the edge) is lawyers who tell me that getting "high" should be OK, that it doesn't hurt anyone, that it's not a crime.
I can live with changing weather. I have a harder dealing with people who want to tear down their bodies or worse, hurt someone else by violent force (yes, this includes accidents while driving under the influence) or by selling the stuff.
gofish,
comeon. give bsg a break.
I'm sorry. If I can find my Zigzags, I'll go roll me a cool one and mellow out man. :)
Fish, hope you found your papers and feel better now. BTW just who would you have hurt if you had done so?
Otherwise, I kinda agree with BG on weathermen. Just tell me if violent weather is coming or big change in the current weather. Should take about 1 minute. Show a map of the country with a few temps and we can figure it out from there.
Well, if I took off driving with slower motor skills, I could possibly injure someone in an accident. I have some very personal stories I can share with you about this happening to people very close to me. Or, if I keep it up, maybe move to drugs that have a worsening impact on my body and wind up needing indigent care and letting the county (that means you) pay for it, it hurts taxpayers. Or, if I'm lucky enough to have insurance and seek medical care, eventually it will cause rates to rise again. As it is, I pay $800 month for my family's medical care now. Anyway, it affects a lot of people.
OK, too much drugs can hurt you and others. So can too much tobacco, sugar, alcohol, bread, soda pop etc. So let's legislate against all EXCESS and leave the responsible people alone. (Still think TV weather is overdone, tho.)
