I wish I had just one little well...sigh
You can have mine, I am tired of messing with it.
One thing I'm worried about with all this drilling in the Barnett Shale for natural gas, is that it takes on average 4 million gallons of fresh water to what they call 'fracture' the shale. That's per well. And sometimes they have to do it again. That water is ruined as a result of that process. Seems like we're ruining one natural resource to get another. I hope we don't run out of water someday.
Well yes and no. Water is now a renewable resource, it will just take billions and billions of development to make this technology commercial. But yes, it has been demonstrated that scientists are now able to replicate a hydrogen cell to reproduce water molecules. Who knows, maybe one day we can power our cars from renewable hydrogen cells..
too scientific for me, I should have passed this one over.
Well, aside from the frac'ing maneuvers, the heavy equipment traffic, etc. those tall, lighted wells are just lovely across the golf course horizon. Luckily, they're almost finished sucking out the gas here in Trophy Club.
