Fox 4 News Major Screw Up

Ok, we all know about the Fort Worth officer clinging to life after being shot yesterday. Well, tonight, FWPD announces there will be a press conference to update the condition of the officer. Fox 4 News, anticipating his death and the poster child for sensationalism, runs this graphic at 9:55 p.m. as they explain that the officer's condition had only taken a turn for the worse. Bottom line: They expected the officer to be dead. They prepared the graphic. And then posted the graphic on live television even though the officer was still alive.

That is really f**ked up. I'll bet someone gets fired over that one.

What else can you expect from Fox? They often let little things like truth, accuracy, and decency get in the way of a "scoop". Fair and balanced? Ha! How sad for that family.

He is still alive right??? Anyone have an update on his condition?

I believe his situation is very grave, and I heard that the hospital personnel may be talking with the family about organ donations, so it doesn't look good. With a head wound and a possible murder investigation (in the event he dies), they are probably going slow so they can testify that it was the gunshot that caused his death, and not some other cause. Sounds technical, but there must be clear evidence that it was the defendant's actions that caused the death in order for a murder conviction to be valid.

Agree with the first two comments! I was shocked when I saw that graphic after seeing them announce that the officer was still clinging to life @10:00 PM last night. As of 7:30 this morning his condition was given as "grave". Two cops shot by scumbags that weren't in that bad a trouble before... in two weeks. So terribly sad.

Maybe we should send a vidio of the officer to Senator Frist so he can tell us if he's brain dead or not. Obviously many at Fox have been brain dead for years.

......Fox folks are ghoulish stalkers...should be arrested for invasions of privacy.

Well, if it isn't the news organizations messing up the stories, it's the lawyers trying to cover 'em up. Interview with the suspect, he states that he thought it was "burglars" and they (cops) shot first. Let me tell you something. Those cops were set up when they walked through the door by the female who said that the suspect wasn't home, and allowed the cops to search the house, knowing he was there.she stood at the door talking to the police. How could he not have known they were there. She needs to be charged with attempted capital murder also and if the officer dies, needs to fry right next to him.

Update: The office has died according to family spokesmen.

...yes, sadly the young officer has died.....so now the media slaps cameras into the faces of the bereaved family and stalks them through their grief...

...THAT should be against the law!

Well, there goes our "free press" again. I think the preachers have described it well when they describe taking wrongful advantage of a freedom as a "license". That fits our press today. They have spent all those years since the founding of our country emphasizing their "freedom", and it has seared their consciences so much that they have entered into what most would call wrongful "license". They go around grinding out garbage with their poison pens, and never give it a second thought about the human beings involved--all for the sake of having a "free" press!
