"House burned to the ground off 51. It was a really large and nice looking house. You could see the flames shooting in the air from the club house at Fossil Pointe Shooting Grounds."
Edit: You've got to see the photo. (Facebook.)
Edit: And another. Apparently it was not occupied?

Is that the place with the airplane hanger?
Slick,
If you post something that requires me to log into Facebook then I won't see it.
I also would advise all men to make sure your wives are limiting their time and "pausing before they post".
I'm convinced Facebook will be the death of civilization.
Yes
Yeh its where the airplane hanger is. Say BG I have a good picture of the front , how can I get it to you?
Was the payment due?
What's the deal with Boyd fire department? I hear they aren't showing up for any of their calls the last several days, and the neighboring fd's are having to run all their calls.
Googling "fossil pointe shooting grounds" now.
4:52, I saw their one truck in someone's yard up on blocks.
those $4k per month payments sure come fast, and last a long, long time. not to mention property taxes, insurance. thank God for State Farm.
The only thing cooler than a house burning is a house with a delinquent mortgage burning
3:08...you are correct. I have bagged a couple of lonely women in the past six months like that. Thanks, Facebook!
I would be thoroughly pissed if I was one of those people paying that additional ESD tax and they weren't even responding to 911 calls.
From The update:
According to the Wise County Appraisal District the house was built in 1986 and is valued at approximately $311,000. The 3,500 square foot home is owned by Mark and Kathy Fleckenstein.
Google search on the owner:
Decatur: Mark Andrew Fleckenstein, 50, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2010 in Decatur.
Funeral services will be held at Becker-Ritter Funeral Home in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
Mark was born May 8, 1959 in Brookfield, Wisconsin to Andrew and Rita Stevens Fleckenstein. He married Katherine Ladell on July 18, 1992 in Brookfield.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, Kathy Fleckenstein of Decatur; three sons, James, Jake and Jeff Fleckenstein; father, Andy Fleckenstein and wife, Jan; mother, Rita Stevens all of Wisconsin; two brothers, John and Paul Fleckenstein of Wisconsin; and two sisters, Sue Eringuurd of Michigan and Carolyn Scott of Wisconsin.
To add to 5:43, he commited suicide. Owned a company that build monster trucks.
that house has been on the market for a long time. just saying
I always liked driving by and looking at that beautiful place. That's too bad it burned down.
I think the truck you saw is the one by the fire station that they don't use anymore as the the engine was burnt up so they got another truck.
I am a tax payer and I would like to know why that ESD has a paid fire chief and they are not responding to calls. I am glad my tax dollars are going towards payed personnel and we don't have any better service than this.
Good old Boyd Fire Dept. gets paid by the county and by the ESD and no one makes the calls, if you live in Wise County ESD 1 petetion for a vote to abolish ESD 1 and save your self some money and dont pay for a service you are not getting
There are some great volunteer fireman in this county, but they aren't in Boyd.
I fought that fire. It was 101 degrees, and it was hard to put out. We saved a wing of the house (there is NO WAY that it was only 3500 square feet. It was at least double the size of my 2000 square foot house on the ground floor, alone.). We put a lot of manpower (and women-power) into that place.
There was a big pool in the back, and it would have been nice to have cooled down in it, or at least used the water to put the fire out. As it was, we used a lot of tanker trucks, as well as firefighters.
I guess I'd have done it for anyone. And will have to, now.
