This was obviously a well exectued staged performance. Hence the camera capturing the moment perfectly. Speilberg could not have done it any better. BRAVO! Excellent performance. It seemed so real. The driver should win the best "Go Limp and fly face-first" award! Supporting actresses were not shabby either. Their performance was proof that this was not their first film appearance. The only improvement would be a little female toplessness and course gushing blood. 4 Stars.

not sure what the "can't count" comment is about - the reporter started out by saying there were seven boaters, then followed up later saying "...the driver and six passengers". Who's saying otherwise?
The water wasn't necessarily choppy. The reporter states - and you can see it, too - they hit a large wake. Still, not good seamanship on the driver's part, in addition to the lack of lifejackets, which wouldn't have helped any of them in this case
And you can tell that Pinky was already out of it, in between slamming her chin into that railing/arm rest and getting acquainted with the bulkhead.
I'd rather kiss the gunner's daughter again than take that kind of punishment!

Saw a different view of the crash on the news. Guy in the blue shirt put a GoPro cam on the windshield before they started. There was another boat that caught the wreck and the water was much rougher that it appears in this video.
Driver of the boat, Marvin F. Carter of Memphis, Tenn was arrested.
