- I'm confused. I was talking to a guy at the courthouse whose band played at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill in Dallas last week. He said the crowd was awful on a weekday night. Today, the Morning News says the bar will open tonight.
- I really don't care if the Cowboys win other than it makes the sports scene around here more interesting.
- I would have thought that Jason Witten would have been smart enough not to play.
- I kind of like Queen Latifah's slightly tricked up National Anthem. As long as the song is played in an up tempo, you can get away with some things.
- The pre-game show also had the incredibly good looking Gwen Stefani. (Pic.)
- I missed DeMarco Murray's big run because I got sucked into watching Bill Clinton for a second.
- Great Clinton line: "We simply cannot afford to turn the reins of government over to someone who will double down on trickle-down."
- Sandra Fluke kind of jazzed me last night.
- The Democrats removal, and then the reversal of the decision, of references to God and Jerusalem in their platform was a self-inflicted wound that didn't need to occur. (But the video of the "reversal vote" is high entertainment.)
- Cowboy's defensive coordinator Rob Ryan doesn't have a lick of class.
- I forgot to mention the other day that 34 point underdog Texas State's victory over the University of Houston will be the biggest upset of the year. And someone in Vegas bet $2,000 for Texas State to win outright at 60 to 1 odds.
- Today's Random Thought Girl is actually from a collection of pics from the Party Cove at Lake Lewisville. Lots more here. You're welcome.

great clinton line : "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms Lewinsky."

Sandra Fluke kind of jazzed me last night.
To many callouses on her back for me.

on the dems reversal on God. was very revealing. you can tell they really dont want God involved, since He says abortion, gay marriage, etc.. are an abomination and all. but to leave Him out of the platform was political suicide.
it was kind cool to see them squirm.
Skippy, I nearly hurt myself laughing when I read that you "got sucked into watching Bill Clinton." There is so much comedy gold there that I don't even know where to start.
Party Cove at Lake Lewisville:
Looks like a bunch of douche bags and tatted up trash.
Not impressed.
Cowboy game was an EXCELLENT way to not watch Slick Willy and all his lies last night. That guy amazes me. A real piece of work. And the Demo's idolize this man? Sheesh...................
Clinton's "I feel your pain" debates and canned speeches were always 100% awful. But if you ever saw him stump, and you had an open mind, you voted for the guy. I first saw him in Sundance Square in 1996, with Jim Wright introducing him. After Wright's speech (during which he was so fired up that his voice often failed because he had recent throat surgery), I thought there was no way Clinton was going to be worth staying for--I was a straight-up Republican at the time (I have since learned to read and grew a conscience). But I have never seen a speaker that could deliver like he does (maybe John Sharp on a good day, but on very limited issues). He was the first Democrat I ever voted for, and I know why Republicans were so afraid of him for so long. And now so does Romney.
Rage

God doesn't say much at all about marriage, actually. The institution as we know it is a modern invention. Back then, God permitted polygamy--maybe that's why Republicans can vote for Romney?
What their votes showed was a willingness to be inclusive. I know that's a difficult concept for the nut jobs on the right, a point Clinton made perfectly. Y'all are cutting off your nose to spite your face. Can't wait for Texas to go blue here in a few years. Maybe y'all can move to Canada with Alec Baldwin.
Rage
Reagan legalized abortion as Governor of California.
Rage....one more time so you will understand, being a great speaker does not equate to being a great leader. Hitler could fire up a crowd and stump like no other as well.
It is eye opening to know you could not read in 1996, how many years later was it before you learned?
"Sandra Fluke kind of jazzed me last night."
I just threw up in my mouth, that girl looks like Janet Reno and Rosey Odonell had a love child that was a little downsy!
God doesn't say much at all about marriage, actually. Actually, God doesn't say anything. He let his only son say it for him. Rage, you are such a douchebag.
Clinton's speech was good!
Rage, If all it takes for you to get a thrill up your leg is for someone to give a good speech just shows how shallow you are. Hitler gave damn good speeches too.
- Whew, glad you didn't say Fluke kind of jizzed you.
- Romo just keeps on throwing the ball high to Witten, hanging him out to dry.
- Stefani's performance was wretched.
- Slick Willie's syphyllitic nose gets grosser every speech.
- Watching Rob Ryan is worse than seeing Wade Phillips on the sideline
I believe it's what is known as a soft opening...referencing the Toby Keith bullet point - not Bill Clinton or Sandra Fluke
Hey-O!
Rage, What their votes showed was a willingness to be divided. Probably more opposed the vote than approved but for the sake of not having more egg on his face, Mayor Villegarosa, or whatever that tool's name is, he slipped the knife in the back of all of the weenies that are anti-God and anti-Israel. As Skippy said, it was high entertainement. But as Debbie Blabbermouth Shultz said, they are moving forward.
Oh, Rob Ryan has class, it's just that it's all 3rd.
I hadn't seen Clinton give a speech in a long time, and had forgotten how good he is at it. He is truly talented and effective in that capacity. It is scary to watch someone that can obfuscate, mischaracterize but be believable, rewrite history, etc., that well. I suspect he would have been great at opening and closing arguments in the courtroom, had he chosen to be a litigator. I know the Repubs do it, too, but there are a tiny few as accomplished at that task as Clinton. Obama has the reputation as a great orator, but he doesn't hold a candle to Clinton.
@Rage "I have since learned to read and grew a conscience":
So, these 2 events convinced you that the best social policy involves profound covetousness and placing those who choose to produce into serfdom to those who choose to not produce?
keep going libs, im sure you can find a way to blame bush for your own botched convention
I like God's version of marriage for King Solomon, 700 wives and 300 concubines...that's 1,000 vaginas. God is great!
What was "entertaining" about the vote (required 2/3 majority to change platform) was how "undemocratic" it was. Clearly there was no majority vote in an almost empty convention when the vote was taken (3 times) and no roll call vote taken! The platform leaving out God and Jerusalem as the capitol really ticked off the Jewish vote. Arab Democrats and atheists did not serve Obama's re-election so he back tracked on the platform (he had to sign off on it before it was adopted!
I watched the reversal vote requiring 2/3 majority. All three votes that they took sounded about equal and there was no 2/3 majority. In fact I think that in the third attempt the "No" vote was louder than the prior two "No" votes. Someone needs to put a sound meter on the recordings to see what they show. Democrats don't care what the majority want even when it is within their own party.
I think I saw Nadia Lockyer in the 3rd pic of the Lake Lewisville Cove Party pics.
Love how the lack of crowds at Demo place that they had to cancel and move it indoors. So typical of his crowds -- less people and less money. People are finally realizing Obamy is not who he tried to make us all believe he was.
Rage....one more time so you will understand, being a great speaker does not equate to being a great leader.
How about our country's last balanced budget and budget surplus? Does that make him a great leader? How about forcing Congress's hand on the budget by calling their bluff and shutting down the federal government? If Ron Paul said it, you'd applaud him. If Romney said it, you'd think it was a fantastic idea.
Bill Clinton actually did it.
Actually, God doesn't say anything.
A Republican who hasn't read the Old Testament? That's weird,
Double Fake Burning Bush
Hitler gave damn good speeches too.
Wow, two Hitler references? I'm getting bites left and right and I'm not even trying. I'm on my game today.
Rage, What their votes showed was a willingness to be divided.
The Democratic Party's greatest weakness (inclusiveness) is also it's greatest virtue. It's why they hurt themselves often (see, e.g., their efforts to get things done when they had control of both houses just after Obama's election). That's why Republicans are so well organized and get things done--they have no virtues.
So, these 2 events convinced you that the best social policy involves profound covetousness and placing those who choose to produce into serfdom to those who choose to not produce?
No, I just like balanced budgets and budget surpluses--that's why I'd vote for Clinton again.
Rage
is it strange that anyone attending DNC must show photo ID to get near the convention, but no id to vote.
"Democrats had the diversity angle well covered by filling the convention hall with.....Democrats"
John Stewart
Please do not use the work incusive. It mystifies word kyle.
Ol' wordy is licking his wounds after the Clinton speech, 10:31. He has to wait for Limbaugh and Hannity to release talking points before he can post in here today.
Rage, You need to change your name to Monica. Game on
I promise to never use the word incusive.
9:59, you nailed it. Let me see: Because of Bush's failed policy with the Arab/Persian states the question of the capital of Israel is an issue now.
That yes/no vote probably cost the Democrats Florida. The Republicans should put it in their campaign ads.
Rage, If you like balanced budgets and budget surpluses, why are you supporting Obammy? Damn, it turns out that Rage/Monica is a tea bagger after all.
Clinton spoke?
10:31
"Please do not use the work incusive. It mystifies word kyle"
it probably would the way it was write. Try proofing when you're trying to be clever.
gern blansten
Rage, the one thing you really need for balanced budgets and surpluses is jobs! We had jobs during Clinton's presidency because Bush and Reagen doubled down on trickle down. The "green" economy that Obama is pushing for will not allow for mass job creation ever again. High unemployment is a byproduct of that type of economy, which means to get reelected you have to ratchet up entitlements going forward to cover those who will fall permanently out of the workforce.
Spare me the raising taxes on the rich argument, that will provide less than 1% of the revenue needed to bring the deficet under control. It will only be symbolic. Obama will go after middle class taxes if he truly wants a balanced budget, but he will not tell you or I that!
Oh, and Clinton is not running for President this go round, neither is Bush. Seems like that is all you libs can drum up to justify your vote, Clinton good, Bush bad...vote Obama?
Party Cove?1
JACKPOT!
Thanks
Wordkyle-- LOL
I personally watched the season premier of Ghost Hunters and would switch to the Rangers game on commercials. Much better!!
Who cares about Clinton and the cowboys? not me
Translated from Clinton's "great" speech, "If you want a free America, vote Romney. If you want a Marxist Utopia, vote Obama..."
Clinton's budget balanced because of a strong economy bolstered by a rapidly expanding tech sector and a Republican congress that reined in spending. He did nothing but diddle with interns and blame the Republicans for government shutdowns.
it probably would the way it was write. Try proofing when you're trying to be clever.
gern blansten
That's wither funny, or sad.
Seems like that is all you libs can drum up to justify your vote, Clinton good, Bush bad...vote Obama?
That beats "Republicans screwed up the economy and were losing 750,000 jobs a month when Bush left office, so now let's give it back to them..."
Rage
He did nothing but diddle with interns and blame the Republicans for government shutdowns.
Actually, he took credit for rubbing their nose in it. If the Romney/Rape ticket offered to do that, you'd say they were the smartest ticket ever. Clinton actually did it.
I love how Clinton can still get the nut jobs on the right so upset. He hasn't been in office for over a decade, and he still gives them fits.
Rage
Truest point ever on blog. Dems philosophy is, Clinton good, Bush bad so vote for Obama. That is exactly how they think. That is the synopsis of Rage on here every day. Clueless.
The republican synopsis is "Bush good (hilarious!), Obama black, Romney not what we wanted by at least he's white."
Rage,
Again, Bush is not running this go round bucko! What part of that do you not understand. Romney is not running on Bush's record, it is a new time with new problems and decisions to be made. Obama is running on Clinton's record because that is all he has after 4 years of failed policy.
"I love how Clinton can still get the nut jobs on the right so upset. He hasn't been in office for over a decade, and he still gives them fits."
....too funny, that after all the foaming at the mouth about Bush! I guess your resemble that remark!
At least the Dems didn't back
down on bringing HAMAS into
the fold. Way to stick by those
ideals you Muslim ass kissers.
"it probably would the way it was write. Try proofing when you're trying to be clever.
gern blansten
That's wither funny, or sad."
Stupid is as stupid does Rage.
11:34, Clinton was president longer ago than Bush, yet y'all can't stop foaming at the mouth about him.
All persons who use the term tea-baggers will now be known as douche-baggers.
a) No actual "surplus" ever exited under Clinton. The federal debt went up every year. The "surplus" was all smoke, mirrors, creative government accounting, and financed with borrowed money.
b) "Clinton's economy" was due to the internet boom, and collapsed in the spring of 2000, driving America into a recession.
c) Clinton "lied repeatedly under oath, suborned perjury, and hid evidence. His lies, while about sex, continued after they were necessary to save his marriage or avoid extreme embarrassment. He lied to the grand jury when his basis for doing so was to avoid admitting earlier acts of perjury." Why in the world would anyone in his right mind give credence to anything Bill Clinton ever says again in his lifetime?
The Democratic synopsis is
four more years of minority
occupation goverment so we
can plunder wealth for our
voters.
"No, I just like balanced budgets and budget surpluses--that's why I'd vote for Clinton again."
In the 1st place, Clinton kicked and screamed the whole way re: balanced budget during his Presidency. Congress did that and attracted the label "mean-spirited Repubs" by the Dems. See, you are trying to rewrite history again. Bad Rage, Bad Liberal!
And in the 2nd place, you didn't address my question at all, unless you are saying that voting for the Dem candidate Clinton was a one time situation, and you've returned to being "a straight-up Republican". But, no, even if that, you still didn't because the premise of your statement is historically inaccurate. You are guilty of what you accuse WordKyle of doing.
So Clinton covers for Obama and says no one could correct the mess Obama had to fix in only 4 years so he needs 4 more.
Here's a little info: When Romney wins, we'll give him only 4 years to fix things and get the economy back. And if he doesn't get it done in 4 years, then we'll be looking for another president.
If you're going to whine that you just didn't have enough time, then stay out of the race!!
The next 4 years are crucial to the strength and the mere existence of our United States! Whoever wins BETTER get things right or there might be no USA left!
Clinton lied (actually, he was acquitted) and no one died!
Bush lied, and kept reporters from taking pictures of the caskets of his victims--fallen soldiers who he used for no legitimate reason.
See there! Ol' wordy still hates Clinton. Hey word! Clinton isn't running, and was president over a decade ago! Why do you care? If we're not supposed to talk about Bush, we sure ain't supposed to worry about Clinton, right (I forget, is this one of those rules that only apply to anyone but you?)? So put that head back in the sand, Limbaugh hasn't told you what you're supposed to say yet!
Again, Bush is not running this go round bucko! What part of that do you not understand. Romney is not running on Bush's record, it is a new time with new problems and decisions to be made. Obama is running on Clinton's record because that is all he has after 4 years of failed policy.

Somebody is better off today than 4 years ago.
The S & P 500 from 1/20/09 to 8/10/1, The stock market is up 74% since President Obama took office and corporate profits are up too.
1237 - The news reports say Clinton gave a big speech last night at some clambake or something. So calling his credibility into question seems, well, germane. As with Obama, it's enough to simply look at Bill Clinton's record, especially regarding his unacquaintance with the truth.
Again, Bush is not running this go round bucko! What part of that do you not understand. Romney is not running on Bush's record, it is a new time with new problems and decisions to be made. Obama is running on Clinton's record because that is all he has after 4 years of failed policy.

12:37, It is the libs who keep bringing up Clinton and Bush, you refuse to talk about Obama's record or how you disagree with Romney other than he is a Mormon. We should reelect Obama because of Clinton in spite of Bush, correct?
The pen used to be mightier than the sword.
I think the pen is out of ink.
11:53, Try to keep up pal, geez dumbass.
You can jazz on Sandra Fluke if ya want... she's getting free contraception anyway. Oh wait... I put the wrong vowel in "jazz". My bad....
"Actually, he took credit for rubbing their nose in it"
The sign of a true leader indeed, HAH....you libs are weeetaaaaded!
All I know is, I'd much rather have a KNOWN economic genius as president of the United States than a KNOWN Community Organizer.
Example: Community Organizer's Activities from 2008-2012
Clinton was pretty fantastic last night.
I'm usually cynical about speeches, but he surprised me.
"Bush lied, and kept reporters from taking pictures of the caskets of his victims--fallen soldiers who he used for no legitimate reason."
The rule of not allowing photographs of the caskets of soldiers being returned to the US had been in place since 1991. Bush Sr. started it. Democratic President Bill Clinton followed that path for 8 years. W. followed that path for 8 years. Then Defense Secretary Robert Gates lifted the rule in February of 2009.
Do a little research before spouting off hot political opinions there ace.

Toby Keith's has already been open, probably a grand opening or something. I've actually been there...it wasn't too bad. I think we went on a Friday though. Got pretty crowded around 10:30-11, but the opening band had literally no one watching. No bad for Dallas.
12:35, Clinton lied but no one died? Tell that to the families of the sailors that were aboard the USS COLE. How about all the civilians that died during the bombing of Kosovo?
Yeah, how DARE someone that behaved, studied hard, worked hard, took a few risks and sacrifices and makes good scratch have MORE than those who made other decisions; like becoming obese, giving kids ridiculous names, going to jail a few times, and goofing off instead of prepping for life. NOT FAIR!!!
69 comments, HEY-OOOOO!!!!
Ok imagine this: You're on a plane with lots of people. Pilots in the cockpit all die of heart attacks and there is no one to fly/land the plane. Stewardess frantically enters the coach area and desperately asks for ----
A. an exp community organizer
B. someone with exp as a pilot
Answer: B
Reason: If you wouldn't want the community organizer to take he controls of the plane instead of an experienced pilot-- why in God's name would you want him to take control of an entire country instead of an experienced businessman?
Pretty simple, huh?
2:32, that's weak. Even wordkyle wouldn't make that weak of a claim.
I wonder why if Clinton was such a strong leader and such a wonderful President, why wasn't his second-in-command, Al Gore, a complete shoe in to takeover the Presidency in 2000.(?)
If Clinton was "all that" Gore should have blown away W.
Sandra Fluke and liberal women should be taking up the banner to get free prescriptions for Viagra added to the health plan. Everyone knows that you have to have a lot of alcohol and Viagra to get it up for most liberal women. Makes you wander why they need so much contraception.
"You're welcome."
It was good to see that all of those girls had their PFDs so readily available.
If Clinton was "all that" Gore should have blown away W.
Not so fast there, fella'!

@12:35 So, Obama is using fallen soldiers for legitimate reasons? In the same theaters that Bush used them "for no legitimate reason"??? Is that what you are saying?
3:35
Again, your arrogance exceeds your intelligence.
My first employer after college was with Electronic Data Systems(EDS), founded by... H. Ross Perot.
He lives on Straight Lane in University Park. One of his neighbors is his sister and another is a tall German guy named Dirk.
You know, for someone that claims to be an attorney, you assume a helluva lot.
If anyone needs fertilizer for their garden, you can print off Rage's comments, shred the paper, scatter over your garden plot and water.
His words have so much BS in them, you are sure to grow record sized melons, even bigger than Rage's head if you can believe that!
Double Fake Neil Sperry
Clinton-Ruby Ridge.
That liberal handbook is in full use today. Even Rage stooped to using those cheap tactics. I thought he was a little better than that, but I guess indoctrination is a motherfudger!
"Clinton was pretty fantastic last night."
Katy, please tell me you didn't fall for that ol' cigar trick! If so I know a good cleaners, get ya dress fixed right up, stain free! I knew ol' Willy was slick, but he's even convertin' em back hetero!
I heard the Dems found God last night, turns out he was just hanging out on the short end of the Gallup poll!
3:35
You may want to check history and a calendar.
Perot ran for President in 1992 and 1996. Gore lost to W. all on his own in 2000, Perot was not in the race.
Priom's taco joint has a bunch of Obammy stickers and signs out do you think it's because they are wetbacks or do they know anything about Obama?
Can anybody that works at the Taco stand even vote??
@4:52: Bill Clinton is an objectively great speaker, I'd say.
It's not sexual - and I am too young to ever had to decide whether or not to vote for him.
But that guy could try and sell you soap and - even if you didn't end up buying the soap - it would be the best sales pitch you've ever head...
Here's the question to ask yourself to which an honest answer will cut through all the noise about Clinton's speech last night: Do you think that even Clinton himself believed what he was saying?
Don't forget the Charlie Foxtrot in Waco, TX in 1993.
Double Fake David Koresh
Love to watch conservatives squirm when Clinton is on stage. Too bad Dubya wasn't even invited to the GOP convention. Looks like they actually don't miss him yet.
9/11 happened on George W. Bush's watch, therefore he did NOT keep America safe.
5:59
So....who was POTUS during the planning stages?
Take your time...
He has something in common with CLINT Eastwood.(That's a hint)

Truer words were never spoken. Check with Mrs. LL to get back on track.

Nothing more Politiculally correct I suppose.

Then write in Dick Marcinko wordpile

Not to put too fine a point on it but the surplus was in the budget that Clinton handed him, not the debt. There is a difference in the federal budget and the national debt, you might want to read up on this.
