Pffft. Just another day on the LLano Estacado. (However, it did make me look up the word haboob, which I saw for the first time yesterday, in Wikipedia. The top photo for the entry was taken right down the road.)
The source article states "...we've been treated to the rare site of a dust storm hovering over Lubbock and the Texas Tech campus." RARE? You kidding me? I grew up south of Lubbock. Believe me, this is not rare!
Ah, this reminds me of the good old days in Lubbock. When I was a senior at Tech, we lived in an old house built in the 1920's near campus with wood-frame windows. They did not do much to stop the dust, but being college kids we just left the grit in the windowsills. I also remember the constant tornado sign in the lower corner of the tv screen, we grew numb to that. Good Times.

I've seen that a lot out in the big Hub city, when it happens just right, it rains mud.

That's the real difference between Red Raiders, Aggies, and Longhorns. We've got grit! :)
