Officers armed with assault rifles patrolled Zanesville Wednesday morning, a day after police killed dozens of animals that escaped from a wild-animal preserve, and where the owner’s body later was found. Warning that more animals still were on the loose, officials expected up to four school districts to cancel classes as the remaining bears, big cats and other beasts from the Muskingum County Animal Farm were hunted down. Wow. That's one crazy story. Wild animals running wild. Thanks goodness a release of bobcats, cougars, jaguars, leopards, lions, tigers and bears could never happen here. Wait. What did you say? Oh, yeah . . . .

Our International Exotic Animal Sanctuary is owned by a good organization, not an individual animal collector like the one in Ohio. I don't think this would happen here, unless done by a sadistic criminal. It is very sad for the Ohio animals...maybe they are better off...only God knows.

I think it's disgusting that the kill happy sheriffs' there never heard of tranquilizers. The animals didn't ask for this, they are scared and confused -- so hey, let's blow them away. Sad.

I think it's disgusting too that the animals had to be killed. Just heard that they think the owner opened all the gates then killed himself.
Bet he didn't think by doing so that the animals would be killed.

I think he knew the animals would be killed...it was a suicide/murder. You know, like they are my possessions, so if I die they go with me kinda thing.

It' a sad thing that they had to be killed but they were released at night and the authorities had no tranquilizers. School kids would be standing at bus stops at daybreak, not a risk worth takining.

It's bullshit that there is a shortage of theese animals.There is just a shortage of places for them to live in their native countrys. There are probably more tigers than the reported fourteen hundred in this article.Just watched a film where in cambodia and Thailand they raise them to make a tea from the bones.Susposed to make you healther and hornier.

that place in bport is scary. been hearing reports for years of horses in neigboring pastures with huge claw marks on them..
