not enough to get him re-elected
IMHO

Gas price and employment Cuz. That is what will tell the tale in 2012.

This event should be credited to no POTUS, other than giving the order to attempt to do so. I believe that your earlier statement that the economy is the issue that that will make the difference regarding Obama's re-election is correct, and specifically in my opinion, whether the massive deficit spending that he has pushed, appears to be a good thing to the American electorate.

Thank you, President Bush.

Anonymous said...

This is because of our soldiers not the president

Anonymous said...

Obama Osama, What's the difference?

Anonymous said...

In other news..... Chuck Norris's whereabouts remain unknown at the time Bin Laden's body was found....more developing.

Anonymous said...

HOW can this be credited to Obama??

Anonymous said...

Obammy's minions won't be able to afford the gas to get to the voting booth. Nice try Skippy!

Now we know why William and Kate canceled their trip to Jordan.

Obama was smart enough to continue the same goals of what Bush started. Despite what he said to get elected, he advanced the war against terrorism. Congratulations to the Obama administration that saw the importance of this war and carried out the plan that Bush put in place.

10:37, you have a short memory. Bush abandoned that effort to revenge his father in Iraq.

Charlie Sheen will be honored tomorrow at the white house. Sheen was credited by donating Tiger Blood to all participants in the recovery of Osama... More on this developing story to come...

Anonymous said...

WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Did that somebitch just take credit? Thank you to our elite forces that Obama has the pleasure of working with. Also, thank you President Bush for making this a priority.

Anonymous said...

Mission Accomplished?

Anonymous said...

What do you want to bet that we got this intel via waterboarding.....something Obama STRONGLY disapproves of?!?!?!

Anonymous said...

Did anyone see Obama in Pakistan? I think not! Our US troops were there to handle the problem with little help from Washington other than jerking them up, causing them to leave thier families, causing hardships on families and being paid damn little to risk thier lives for our freedom! Thanks to all past and present military.

truly great day for americans.

Anonymous said...

Barry, weren't you the one questioning only a few months ago why we were still in Afghanistan and saying we needed to get out!

Anonymous said...

As a confirmed conservative republican, I still think that, just for a couple of moments, we should lay our political weapons down and enjoy that combined victory for the WHOLE COUNTRY!
We can take up our arms again tomorrow!

Thank God for our military!

BTW, remember when 9-11 happened, and the TV showed all of the muslims celebrating? Well, back at 'em!!!!! We need to pull out our Three Dog Night albums and play CELEBRATE!

Love,
Gern Blansten

Who cares...he's dead!

Anonymous said...

Obama had nothing to do with this. Bush did NOT abandon the war on terror, freaking idiots!

Just because Osama, excuse me, Obama was the president at the time of Bin Laden's death, he is not the one who did it. "Although he gave himself much credit"
Our men and women of the military are the heroes. I'm surprised that Obama doesn't have a strained arm from patting himself on the back!
He has screwed too many things up before this time, and there is still time for him to continue to show his true colors, before the election of 2012. He is unable to run our country except to run it in the ground.
Hopefully people will not be fooled by his lies and limitations during this campaign.

About F-ing time. Next candidate on the list to be disposed of by the U. S. Better hide. Oh and I still will not vote for Obama.

Exactly 8 years ago - to the day - Bush did his "Mission Accomplished" speech - the same day Obama was killed by US troops.

All this chatter about "This should have happened during the Bush presidency!" Um yes - it should have, but it didn't.

Obama has the right to be proud and take his part of the credit. He is the standing Commander in Chief.

Anonymous said...

That was my first thought too - the election after some feel good about this snake being killed.

Job isn't over - think of the masses of killers that sicko has trained.

The job goes on. We cannot let our guard down.

Try again idiots:

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,
3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)

(I went and got some quotes for you wordkyle. And mzchief, I know it sucks to be me. Please don't post your crazy in here today with randomly capitalized words.)

I want to see the death certificate.

Classic!

Barack Obama is to the killing of Osama bin Laden as Barry Switzer was to winning the Super Bowl. Yeah, they did it -- using the personnel and system set up by someone else who was better at the job.

Remote Controller said...

People are idiots. Obama did not take credit for crap. He just gave us the great news of Bin Laden's demise.

Good lord people, are you really that resentful that you can't even see the we were given good news.

Total hypocrisy.

The devil has lost one of his own

You sir are no George Bush

Anonymous said...

"I", "I", "I". He should not start all his sentences with "I". Take a look at Bush announcement of the capture of Hussein:
http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/wariniraq/gwbushiraq121403.htm

Bin Laden was killed by men made up of s sector of the population who hold no respect for Obamma. I wish he would not have given himself credit for their actions. The Bush announcement was much more classy.

Anonymous said...

I'm astounded by the amount of hatred from conservatives. Give it a break, we (U.S. citizens) are having a party and you're really putting a damper on it.

Anonymous said...

Gee, they sure managed to find him awfully quick once the order was given... I think they have known where Osama was the whole time but keeping that card as an ace in the hole. You just have to wonder what pushed him to the point of clearing the order? Is it re-election? Is it something else? Just a BS political move because NOW Osama is a MARTYR instead of a man in hiding. Martyrs inspire many more than men in hiding do.

Anonymous said...

Remote Controller - we can hope Wordie reads your sentences, unless he is shuffling papers and scanning the internet for one of his boring comebacks.

Lovella said...

We should give credit where credit is due...the U.S. Military, specifically, the Navy Seals!

wordkyle said...

Good grief, how did I become the topic of anyone's interest? I read the quotes and they're accurate. They are also consistent with the sentiments of a politician who refused to let his opponents define "victory" as only one specific action -- bin Laden's capture or death. (Even the press took that position.)

Anonymous said...

Remote Controller are you really that stupid?

The people on the streets acting like fools are embarrassing the the United States. Would you folks please get a brain and calm down.

There's no question, George Bush is more classier than Obama. That's a no-brainer.

Anonymous said...

I knew you yayhoos would claim he was a martyr. We invaded a country to get him under Bush, you jacktards. Obama let his assets work and gave the order.

Sad that "conservatives" can't just be happy that he's dead instead of looking for a reason to bitch because he was killed while a black man was in office.

Anonymous said...

"refused to let his opponents define "victory" as only one specific action "

Well, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED for Bush in not having any victory whatsoever.

pretty interesting that your first blog post about this event was an effort to stir the pot between democrats and republicans. just couldn't write anything congratulatory or something patriotic. you are a tool.

Anonymous said...

It doesn't matter what Obama did or how he announced it, all you ignorant backwards rednecks will twist it around however you like because you are so desperate to continue hating him.

Anonymous said...

Republicans would be heaping mountains of credit onObama if the operation he commanded had failed.

12:01 ahhhh 12:01.

you luvvveeeeedddd George W too?

Anonymous said...

I love how people automatically mark a post as being from a conservative for simply referring to Osama as a martyr. The fact of the matter is he is one now and we will see if his death inspires his followers even more. I hope it doesn't. The thing I find most humorous about the entire situation is that after all of these years he is just now terminated. I seriously doubt that at any point we did not have intelligence on his location and that just now, 10 years and through 1 presidents full term and another's almost full first term it happens. I just wonder what was the reason (aside from his previous actions regarding 9/11) that was now such a big deal? You can blame it on the upcoming election but that's too obvious of a reason.

Anonymous said...

You might want to do some research about the hit before you make such stupid assumptions.

Anonymous said...

12:58 - hope the brilliant Wordy reads your post. That is a great statement!

1:17 - true, and we believe anything THEY CHOOSE to tell us!!

Anonymous said...

wk, give it up, Obama directed this operation through Panetta and the CIA. He had to weigh the risks and make the decisions. If it had gone bad you would be happy to give him the credit. For once, just be an American, not a brain dead right wing recording.
Uncle Wally

AMEN 2:29 - Word is a broken record and boring to boot!

wordkyle said...

Sorry if I disappointed you guys. Your opinions mean a lot to me.

It looks like that Gitmo detainee thing paid off big, huh?

Anonymous said...

Good point 1;17. those who are blind enought to think this wasn't orchestrated and planned strategically at this time are innocent babes. Nothing that the government does is coincidence. If they wanted him they could've had him 10 yrs ago. this is nothing but smoke screens and mirrors and anyone celebrating must be a true idiot. You're simply drinking the Kool-aid.

Anonymous said...

Why can't we just kill hairy ugly foreign people and be happy?

Anonymous said...

MANY OF YOU NEED TO READ THIS.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=13512344

Anonymous said...

Wordie again grasping at unconfirmed info that the intelligence on OBL's whereabouts came from Gitmo. Apparently we've be tracking and confirming this info for about a year. Let's wait before assigning credit to Gitmo tortures.
BTW - if Bush had waited till valid info in WMD was confirmed, we might not have wasted thousands of lives and billions of $$$.
Our intelligence guys and special ops guys got it right, trained for the task, got a proper go-ahead from the president and carried out the task. Congrats to all involved.

wordkyle said...

When you're right, you're right. From the AP story: "U.S. officials said the information that ultimately led to bin Laden's capture originally came from detainees held in secret CIA prison sites in Eastern Europe. There, agency interrogators were told of an alias used by a courier whom bin Laden particularly trusted. It took four long years to learn the man's real name, then years more before investigators got a big break in the case, these officials said." So you're right, they apparently weren't Gitmo detainees, they were from those CIA prisons that Democrats claimed hurt America's image. Obama did a good job of not undoing Bush's work.

Anonymous said...

wk, If we'd followed Bush's pattern, the moment we got wind of a "trusted courier" he'd have tried to waste him. Obama, on the other hand, verified, followed (probably identified other contacts) then, when fully confirmed and prepared, he went in after him. Recall that when our military had OBL trapped in Afghanistan, Bush failed to deploy troops to block the escape from Tora Bora. "...good job of not undoing Bush's work." indeed. This was a job done properly with sufficient forces, resources and time. Whatcha call deliberate action, not shoot from the hip and see what falls.

wordkyle said...

Oops, wait, I spoke too soon. From the Wall Street Journal: "U.S. officials say some of the initial strands of intelligence that eventually led to Sunday’s military operation came from terror detainees captured after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, including some held at the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba."

Anonymous said...

Was waterboarding involved?

Rage said...

You forgot to mention, wordkyle (although I know you did it to be dishonest again), that waterboarding is not what got the intel. It was in the course of a normal line of questioning, years after he was waterboarded.

Anonymous said...

Rage,
It does not state that he was or was not water boarded. The point being Obama run on a campaign to do away with GITMO. IT works. It may not fit in your minds 1 hour episod of 24. We don't know what exactly happened or where it came from. The one thing we do know is OSB is gone. I am not scared, but you better be watching. This thing has just begun.

Anonymous said...

We got Bin Laden and the Obama haters are using all of their energy to make sure Obama does not get the credit. Fact is Obama worked for nine months with his team to make this happen. I am not a fan of Bush but I wish this would have happened on Bush's watch because we would be years ahead of where we are now. No matter who was president it was going to take ten years to get him.
Credit goes to all who worked hard since 9/11 to track him down. When the most evil man in the world is taken down do you think it would be possible put a hold on the hate and just savor the moment?
Uncle Wally

Anonymous said...

Rage, it isn't dishonesty with Wordy (he uses honest "sources") it is a terminal case of narcissism.

wordkyle said...

Those "enhanced interrogation techniques" did their job, didn't they? The US got the information.

Of course the usual suspects choose to believe -- just this once -- in the Immaculate Conception. Osama bin Laden's elimination spontaneously came together because of Obama's divinity. That's easier for them than admitting that the Bush administration got this right, and deserves a lot of credit.

Anonymous said...

Can needles be inserted under fingernails if this is done in Poland by the CIA?

12:14 - much to the horror of so many Obama haters, DICK CHENEY is giving our President credit.

Well, of course.
