Well, it is a larger place than most of us have, plus security. If they really killed him, I think they knew where he was all along. Just waited for the political "right time".
You left out this description. Looks pretty impressive and I would call it a mansion.
The compound The three-story house where officials say bin Laden and his relatives were living was built in 2005 and, at eight times the size of the surrounding houses, was worth about $1 million. It had no Internet or telephone connection and was surrounded by high walls topped with barbed wire. Residents burned their trash in an outdoor area of the compound instead of placing it outside to be picked up.
Whatever you call it, it ain't no cave in the mountains. Heck, it's only a few miles from the capitol of Pakistan and a block from their army officer training school!! Talk about hiding in plain sight. Unfortunately, our "ally" Pakistan is somewhat unreliable. With "fiends" like that ...
Don't trust any of those countries. Pakistan did not help one bit. They are no more friends than Iran. And for everyone that has taken a breath and thinks this is over, it has just begun. It will be over when you drop the big bomb and make that whole desert a giant glass factory!

It's all relative Barry. In Pakistan, THAT IS A MANSION.
Not overly exaggerated, just proportional.
I thought so too. Looked like a dump to me.

It probably was a mansion by the standard of th neighborhood.
No Wi-Fi
Rumors of it being a 'safe house' were also greatly exaggerated.
Double Fake Osama
That would be a mansion by their standards, not ours...

I live in Newark and that's a Mansion compared to my 4 trailer houses butted together.

Sarah Palin has one almost like it.
Achmed said, "Obama, living in caves is bad."
So they loaded up the truck and they moved to Abbottabad.
Pakistan, that is.
Walled compounds, movie stars.

I don't care what it was as long as it was leveled.
There was a sign out front that said...
"Check out our new restrooms!"
