Random Thursday Morning Thoughts.

  • I kept saying that you can't consider Cliff Lee to be a 100% sure thing.
  • The ballpark in San Francisco looks cool. I may go there next year.
  • Fox 4 had a couple of stories of Texans found outside the stadium who just decided to "fly in at the last minute" and buy tickets from scalpers. It seems like the going rate was close to $1,500 a ticket. Think they are happy this morning?
  • Former Boyd resident Greg "The Hammer" Williams is there covering the World Series for 105.3 The Fan. In a heartfelt segment yesterday, he almost teared up talking about how six months earlier he was an outcast (due to being unemployed due to a drug problem) and now he's got a great job and watching the Rangers in San Fran. (He also proclaimed the city the "greatest" one in the world.)
  • I'll stick to my proclamation that this Claws & Antlers stuff is a beat down. And then this gets circulated yesterday.
  • Mrs. LL's root canal was successful but she was in pain last night. Get this: She won't take prescription pain medication.
  • From my Liberally Lean Traffic Center: 1810 was shut down this morning due to a big wreck.
  • I had to use cash to buy gas this morning which is something I haven't done in ages. Man, that last 50 cents takes about a day and half to trickle in.
  • Hot Batgirl.
  • I have no problem with the Republicans winning the House next week. I love me some Washington gridlock.
  • Arkansas school board member is no friend of The Gay. Pretty shocking stuff. I wonder what political party he's associated with?
  • And to the commenter that predicted I'd be divorced in 1 to 2 years? That's ridiculous. I can make it to four easily.
  • A very funny Ron Washington impersonation by a kid.
  • Previously unreleased clip of a 1928 Charlie Chaplain movie shows woman talking on cell phone? Sure, I'll buy that.
  • It looks like we finally have such a glut of lawyers, that new graduates can't find jobs. And, to compound the problem in our area, the University of North Texas is about to open a law school in Dallas.
  • Bill White has a commercial about border security that says something to the effect that Sheriff's representing "90% of the Texas border population" support him.  I guess that means the two Sheriffs for the counties that include Brownsville and El Paso support him.
  • I fear a huge Texas beat down of Baylor this weekend. The Empire is only a six point favorite but I bet Mack Brown has been all over them this week.
  • Massive collection of NFL cheerleaders proving that Halloween is the greatest holiday of the year.

You should be more concerned about Mrs. LL making it the 1 to 2 years.

Pac Bell Park (or whatever they call it now) is good, especially with the "splash hits". But I think Camden Yards it the best.

Make it till four? And your success in the prediction business so far?

I think you will too, wish you the best of everything.

The Time Travel Lady is holding the device different than one would a cellphone.

Her 1st two fingers are up high and seperated from the last two.

Hire a lip reader to find out what she is saying. I bet there is a clue in there somewhere.

Sheriff's representing "90% of the Texas border population are probably illegal themselves or the voters who put them in office are predominately Hispanic who do not support any barriers to illegal crossings at the Rio Grande. If you are running for sheriff in El Paso you cannot get elected if you are known to support enforcement of laws that pertain to illegals. So we know who White is in bed with. I had thought of voting for him until he make all this clear to me.

Answers? I don't know the questions. said...

A glut of lawyers? Maybe the Apocalypse is closer than I thought.

Someone predicted 1 to 2 years for your marriage? Anyone who has seen how beaten down you look in the videos your wife posts on her blog would know you guys will be lucky to make it through Christmas.

That woman is holding a cell phone. I got stuck behind her talking while driving in 1927.

White has an ad claiming Perry has done nothing about the illegal alien problem in Texas, then the ad goes on to talk about those who have been DEPORTED back to Mexico by Perry! uh -- DUH! If White isn't any smarter than to put out a contradictory ad like that, then NO ONE needs to vote for him.

* Even the best of the best have an off night/game. So yeah, Barry's right, Lee is not "a 100% sure thing." Can anyone name an athlete who is a 100% sure thing? I guess this is just another brilliant sports prediction from Barry Green.

* Really!!! Greggo is still news? I hope the guy would have finally gotten his life together after having landed in the gutter a 1/2 dozen times.

* I am always amazed by patients, without medical degrees/training, who believe they know better about taking meds than their doctor. It just makes soooo much more sense for Mrs. LL to risk overdosing on acetaminophen, in an attempt to relive the excruciating pain of a root canal, and blow out her liver than it does to take a couple of doses of hydrocodone.

* The US is ALWAYS better off when the government is stymied by gridlock. Believe it or not, that was one of the reasons the founders decided on the two legislative branches and the POTUS having equal but separate power to force their will on the American people.

* What is it going to take to get people to understand, unless you are married to them or planning on dating them, the sexual preferences of another person is NONE of anyone's business? Here is an actual photo the school board trustee, Clint McCance. If you guessed Clint McCance is the douche bag on the left, pointing out his shortcomings, you are correct.

* Hmmmm...Perhaps William Shakespeare was onto something, for more reasons than originally thought, when he wrote, "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers."
*;)

* How did Halloween go from little kids dressing up in homemade costumes going door to door begging for candy to an excuse for grown women dressing like fantasy/kinky prostitutes?

"And to the commenter that predicted I'd be divorced in 1 to 2 years? That's ridiculous. I threw that comment out yesterday to stir the pot, but not so much your pot.

You mean the liberal bastion of San Franscisco has a newspaper that is recommending a vote for the WingNutz?

I am not homophobic. I just feel that confusing the digestive tract with the reproductive system is disgusting and filthy. The aids virus, on the other hand, seems to thrive in it.

Marriages with step kids is rough on everybody. I was the mom with the "new" husband but we didn't make it. He was too overbearing and thought he knew better than I did how to raise the children I'd borne, nurtured, and raised to pre-teens. The new stepdad needs to remain a "step"parent and keep out of the way of the parenting. they're not your kids and entering at this late date you can't pretend to be. Again, running in the house is nothing. Get used to it & chill....my advice.

Ahem...Part of someone, who has been a multiple time screw up, getting their life together is their being grateful for their progress. It really should not be news that Greggo, who has screwed up, countless second chances, would be grateful for being anywhere other than begging for handouts on a corner.

Perhaps YOU are the one who should reread my comment and you will note that I pointed out that it is about time Greggo got his life together.

Personally, I do not consider anyone who, given countless chances, finally getting their life together as someone to applaud for their accomplishments. However, I do applaud people who have NEVER screwed up and have managed to always keep the wheels on their life especially when weathering difficult times. I am always disgusted by the people who want to throw a parade for some screw up who FINALLY gets it right and ignore the people who quietly go about living their lives, honouring their commitments and being responsible.

3:17. You are so right. Everyone gets is wrong many many times in their lives. None of us are perfect and those who are quickest to point out others' shortfallings are usually the worst hypocrits of the lot, or at least are the most obnoxious and judgemental, which is just as bad a sin as any of the others.

To anonymous 12:58...
You may not be homophobic but you certainly are ignorant.

3.North America: 1 in 4 new HIV infections occur in people between the ages of 13 and 20.
27. About 1 in every 300 Americans is HIV positive.
29. Heterosexual intercourse is the fastest-growing mode of HIV transmission in North America and the dominant mode of HIV transmission worldwide. (FYI heterosexual intercourse has nothing to do with butt sex)
32. Every hour, two young Americans between ages 13 and 24 are infected with HIV. (Fairly certain it is not just caused by butt sex)
33. In the USA, Afro-American woman are highest risk for infection. (Not homosexuals)
34. 25%+ of new HIV infections in the United States are contracted by teenagers. (Surely, 25%+ of US teens are not homosexual)
35. World wide, the rate of infection is 5.3 million per year (was only 3.36 million last year, almost doubled!).
37. World wide 1,200,000 case of HIV are under the age of 15.
45. AIDS is the leading cause of death of African-American women.
49. HIV is most rapidly showing up in heterosexual communities in North America.
93. Women are 8 times more likely than men to contract HIV from one act of intercourse.
114. More than 75% of high-school students have had sexual intercourse by grade 12, more than 50% had had unprotected sex. (Based on teen pregnancy it is doubtful it was butt sex)
115. More than 20% of 12th-grade students have had more than 4 sex partners.

Have a look at the real time HIV/AIDS clock.

So much for your theory that butt sex is a valid excuse to hate homosexuals.

Dear Dr. MzChief:

Did it ever occur to you that some people just can't take hydrocodone? My mom had dental surgery and told the doctor she couldn't take it as it made her sick to her stomach. The dr.s office told her to take it once or twice, anyway. She did and became so dehydrated after 2 days of diarrhea and vomiting that she had to be rushed to the hospital where she almost died. THIS WAS NOT A LOCAL DENTIST!!!
She should have stuck with the OTC pail reliever like Mrs.LL.

House of York said...

It makes me sick too. Blahhhhh.....

Anonymous said...

Dorky York, Hydrocodone makes you sick but you can drink horse piss to lose weight. You're so full of bull sh*t. A lot of people are sick of you and the rest of your York family.

Anonymous said...

For mzchief;I'll bet you eight to five most are caused by a weiner in a butt somewhere. What makes you think teens don't know about anal sex anyway. They probably would't put it on a survey though.

Anonymous said...

MzChief, you seem to believe that reading a few statistics will make you smart. The real facts are that approximately 60% of HIV is acquired through male to male sex. Another 8% are in males involved both in needles and homosexuality. 19% are traced to needles. Around 11% is from high risk heterosexual sex. OTHER IS ONLY 1%. Babies acquire it from their mothers who are typical needle users or have had sex with needle users - common in South Dallas. In my prior life I was employed by a government agency and spent time touring vacant apartment buildings in South Dallas. I had to wear boots with steel soles to lessen the risk of infection from thousands of needles everywhere in all the vacant apartments. Other than my advise to not stick yourself with needles I would say that you sit on your butt and keep your mouth shut. The other thing is not to have sex with trashy people with needle marks on their arms, especially if they live in South Dallas. Many of the women who hung around those apartments would sell sex in order to support their habit.

Removing these risks will give you about as big a chance of getting HIV as being struck by lighting.

Most all of your data is garbage. An example is: Around 2,000 new cases of HIV in teenagers are diagnosed each year in the USA. That is less than 5% of the total, not 25%. The same people that provided your data probably wrote the book on global warming.

WOW! How horrible your life must be to act like you do. Life doesn't have to be that bad. You should get help.

Let me get this straight, your adult mother was stupid enough to take medication she KNEW would cause a bad reaction and she STILL took it. Perhaps, in your case, ignorance is genetic.

There are OTHER highly effective pain meds, than hydrocodone, that doctors can prescribe. I merely used hydrocodone as an example.

Great personal attacks, MZ. I always like to see you lose an arguement while resorting to insults.

Anonymous said...

Here is the evidence that proves MzChief is stupid. Look at each of her statistics from yesterday's post and compare them to the CDC data. The San Francisco AIDS Foundation is also a good source and gives a good description as to how the virus is transmitted.

http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/surveillance/resources/reports/2008report/index.htm

http://www.sfaf.org/aids101/transmission.html

MzChief, if you will wake up a little earlier you could take some biology classes at Weatherford College in the spring semester. You really should consider this and maybe an anatomy class if you don't understand the information at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation website. I would encourage Liz from 11:05 to do the same.

Anonymous said...

9:47, Are you going to argue or are you going to read. All the data is at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website mentioned by Anonymous at 9:47. I doubt that you will read it. If you were smart enough to read it, then you probably would have already known the basic facts covered by the data.
