"I Guess I've Lived Long Enough"

Wow. A Notre Dame student who was filming a football practice from a sixty foot tower died yesterday when the tower toppled in high winds.

Shockingly, he left a couple of prophetic tweets (that also went to his Facebook page) shortly before his death. Link (Language warning.)

I have said it before and I will say it again. A perfect example of "Football comes before anything else". Now, it's even someones life. Tragic and sad. I don't know who is responsible for making, or asking him to go up in that tower, but, filming a football practice is NOT that important.

What kind of genius coach thinks that it is ok for this kid to be in a 60' tall tower in extremely high winds. Hopefully, the family sues Notre Dame for negligence.

OUTfreakingRAGOUS!

Even though Declan Sullivan was terrified, he, obviously, felt incapable of telling the coach/his supervisor to "shove it" and get out of the tower. That type of intimidation is precisely why ADULTS/supervisors are held to a higher standard of responsibility than youths/subordinates.

I hope the Sullivan family sues Notre Dame and wins a sum so vast that the university has to take a loan to buy a cup of coffee.

WOW. A 20-yr. old who couldn't make a logical decision in a dangerous situation?

Not sure I can blame the coach or school district for this one.

House, you're too good to involved with such drivel. Let's talk about how hot you are.

Sooo,is that really you or some dredged up photo from days gone by?

Are you interested in Banjo's by any chance?

LOL 10:47. Yep, that's me. Taken a week or so ago. Give it a rest.

And...no I'm not interested in Banjos.

Sounds like everyone on here already knows all the facts to this accident! Comments like all the above are just pure overreaction, let the facts come out--Notre Dame may very well be at fault but the lynch mob mentality is part of what is wrong in our society.

I guess they should just forego an investigation and start chopping heads and cutting checks!

As usual, it's someone elses fault...

I don't know if anyone is culpable or liable, legally, but I hope whoever told that kid to go up can't sleep at night.

You know the guy played on some combination of the kid's work ethic, fear of being fired, youthful pride, and sense of loyalty to Notre Dame.

The kid had a choice, but I bet it wasn't an easy one, and the whole situation is gross.

I guess his parents never told him to question authority. RIP guy who was too stupid to climb down from the tower that was blowing around in the wind.....the answer is blowing in the wind. You are just another Darwin Award winner.

I cannot believe I actually agree with something Dorky York said. (The 10:40AM comment that is.) (Not the other one......those drops are not good for you. Accept the fact you are turning into a fatty, and just let it go. Or, just eat more healthy, duh.)

Uh, who cares. It's not like that world is runnuing out of people. Besides, he was probably Catholic.

If it was his JOB to video the football practices, then wouldn't it be workmans' compensation?
