...has Chico won a game yet?

All Decatur has to do is win 2 games and they are in the playoffs. win 2 and make the playoffs Why even play the rest of the teams if all you have to do is win (2) to get in...

12:37...No Chico hasnt won yet. They are starting 10 sophs and the rest are juniors. We will take our lumps now but I think this thing is headed in the right direction. The one thing the new guy is doing is holding kids accountable, only lost 1 football player to grades, kids are playing hard and with class. We are actually running a offense and a defense. I am not sure the head coach will stick around but I sure hope my kids have a chance to play for him No matter what the win lose record is. Just hope the board will do what it takes to keep him.

Did the B-port play or what?

What the hell is wrong with you Chico fans? huh? ANY new head coach needs 3 years to turn a program around! Give the guy a chance! After the fourth year if they are still losing, THEN pitch a bi**h! No one can come in and make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t in ONE year!

Hmmm really 9:06? I am pretty sure Danny Henson took the Bulls from 0-10 to 11-2 in 1993...Please correct me if I am wrong...and I thought this new guy was supposed to be some kind of God or something...

Decatur has two sure wins ahead against the conference door mats. Chalk them up as third in district and on their way to the playoffs again!

Then a new season begins!

Anything can happen!

Who was the Chico coach this year?

Anonymous said...

What's with North Texas winning big in their first game with a new coach? Was Dodge that bad? And that recent HS coach at Baylor is doing pretty well, too.

Anonymous said...

Chico still stinks, even with a new coach and dropping a class.

Anonymous said...

I hope Eagle Stadium will git turf by next year

Anonymous said...

6:41 NOT IF WE CAN HELP IT. Voted it down once and voted down next time for sure!!!! real grass and a new coach is all we need!!!

Anonymous said...

I am a Chico fan.....the new guy has done more in one year than the last guy did in 8......Bridgeport yall can keep yalls new "COACH"

7:04pm
AMEN!

Anonymous said...

7:23 pm Yes the new coach has them on the winning track now. It must be a great feeling winning all those games. Im sure it feels good to get on the score board. lol

You are more likely to get turf than a new coach through the group you elected!

7:04 and 8:21

Sorry guys, there won't be a vote except by the school board. The details already in the works/completed out of sight of prying eyes. It will be 7-0 this time.........voters be damned.

Can you buy buck teeth at the dollar store?

8:23, can you say ROLLBACK??

Tax payers do still have some say. The DISD Board might want to truly think hard before they vote in something their taxpayers have already voted down and voiced loudly against. I'm sure they wouldn't want a rollback if they are smart enough to know what a rollback will do to the district! They best not try to say "a rollback will be detrimental to our district if one is voted in," and try to blame those who vote for it. A rollback will be tied DIRECTLY to the misuse and malfeasance of office by those who were elected to the Board!

Can you buy buck teeth at the dollar store?

9:48 AM

The answer is yes, but you can only buy one tooth, that is all they figured they needed for Wise County!

TURF = ROLLBACK think about that sports fans

Anonymous said...

Jeff,Gary,Kevin, you do know what a rollback is don't you? We do!!!! Stay hard Joey.

Anonymous said...

Someone please explain more about this rollback.
Thanks

Isn't that the board that voted 7-0 to call a bond election for turf about a year ago?

Didn't a couple mislead the public and then campaign against the cause they created?

11:25, I don't even live in Bridgeport, and haven't in 16 years, but didn't Henson's record go from 0-10 to 11-1 that year way back in 1993? I thought the only loss was the final playoff game? I could be wrong though.

Anonymous said...

3:06, you're silly. This board didn't propose the turf election - they weren't even all on the board at that time. We just had an election to add a couple - remember?

Anonymous said...

Kind of fickle

Anonymous said...

No but the group on the board at the time voted 7-0 to call the election.

How soon we forget.

11:25, Henson inherited those athletes. Any coach realizes that his/her first year in a new head position is the year they get their feet wet for the new program. If they happen to lead a winning season in their first year, it's due to the former coach's program! It takes at least 3 years to implement a new program. Henson was lucky.. much like Chuck Mills was lucky back in 1976 to inherit a bunch that was primed by former coach Bob Bogue... Bogue resigned and Mills stepped in and reaped the benefits of Bogue's program. Mills was smart enough to move on and use that successful season to his benefit. Henson...not so smart!
Give the Chico coach some time... his predesessor did not leave a "gold mine" behind.....So he has to truly build a program. Carter will deliver if the folks BACK him and give him the time to implement his own program. Be patient!

Anonymous said...

Tom Landery couldn't coach the the Chico boys. You have to have talent.Yes Carter will deliver when he gets some kids that can play football.

Anonymous said...

10:18, Um, Henson didn't inherit anything from Tony Daniels, they were 0-10 the year prior to Henson, 1-9 the year before. 11-2 Hensons first year. I am not a Henson fan, but he did turn that program around in one season. Only two losses were to Southlake (state champs) in regular season, and Perryton (who lost to Southlake the following week) in the playoffs. Chico sucks, Tom Landry couldn't do anything with them boys. Nuff said.

Decatur will never git turf as long as they have board members liven in Gainesville

Anonymous said...

Who lives in Gainesville?

Anonymous said...

That would be Luttrel.

Anonymous said...

I did not know that Luttrell lives in Gainseville. Is it not in any policy/rules that Board members live in the district? Thanks for your imput.

Anonymous said...

Don't say anything about Luttrell the rest of them are kin folk anyway. Luttrell gave us a chance to voice about the turf deal and that is the only reason yall would bring this up. No TURF and if you do ROLLBACK BABY

Anonymous said...

5:09pm
No one is saying anything bad about Luttrell. Just answering a question about him not living in the school district. I think he is the only one on the board that would listen to a complaint by a parent.

CT said...

WE WILL keep our Coach, 7:23. You guys didn't deserve him. Good luck keeping the one you have now.

Is Mr. Lutrull on a county board too?
