All Decatur has to do is win 2 games and they are in the playoffs. win 2 and make the playoffs Why even play the rest of the teams if all you have to do is win (2) to get in...
12:37...No Chico hasnt won yet. They are starting 10 sophs and the rest are juniors. We will take our lumps now but I think this thing is headed in the right direction. The one thing the new guy is doing is holding kids accountable, only lost 1 football player to grades, kids are playing hard and with class.We are actually running a offense and a defense. I am not sure the head coach will stick around but I sure hope my kids have a chance to play for him No matter what the win lose record is. Just hope the board will do what it takes to keep him.

What's with North Texas winning big in their first game with a new coach? Was Dodge that bad? And that recent HS coach at Baylor is doing pretty well, too.

Tax payers do still have some say. The DISD Board might want to truly think hard before they vote in something their taxpayers have already voted down and voiced loudly against. I'm sure they wouldn't want a rollback if they are smart enough to know what a rollback will do to the district! They best not try to say "a rollback will be detrimental to our district if one is voted in," and try to blame those who vote for it. A rollback will be tied DIRECTLY to the misuse and malfeasance of office by those who were elected to the Board!

11:25, I don't even live in Bridgeport, and haven't in 16 years, but didn't Henson's record go from 0-10 to 11-1 that year way back in 1993? I thought the only loss was the final playoff game? I could be wrong though.

11:25, Henson inherited those athletes. Any coach realizes that his/her first year in a new head position is the year they get their feet wet for the new program. If they happen to lead a winning season in their first year, it's due to the former coach's program! It takes at least 3 years to implement a new program. Henson was lucky.. much like Chuck Mills was lucky back in 1976 to inherit a bunch that was primed by former coach Bob Bogue... Bogue resigned and Mills stepped in and reaped the benefits of Bogue's program. Mills was smart enough to move on and use that successful season to his benefit. Henson...not so smart!
Give the Chico coach some time... his predesessor did not leave a "gold mine" behind.....So he has to truly build a program. Carter will deliver if the folks BACK him and give him the time to implement his own program. Be patient!
Tom Landery couldn't coach the the Chico boys. You have to have talent.Yes Carter will deliver when he gets some kids that can play football.
10:18, Um, Henson didn't inherit anything from Tony Daniels, they were 0-10 the year prior to Henson, 1-9 the year before. 11-2 Hensons first year. I am not a Henson fan, but he did turn that program around in one season. Only two losses were to Southlake (state champs) in regular season, and Perryton (who lost to Southlake the following week) in the playoffs. Chico sucks, Tom Landry couldn't do anything with them boys. Nuff said.

No one is saying anything bad about Luttrell. Just answering a question about him not living in the school district. I think he is the only one on the board that would listen to a complaint by a parent.
