Yes, I'm Giddy

  • But being on the road all day keeps me from yapping about it.
  • How weird is this: Baylor is in the Top 25 and Texas and Florida are not.
  • I'd bet the house that would not happen within 25 years.
  • Now Baylor plays Texas next week and a sense of dread overcomes me. Mack Brown, in his post game press conference, was pissed. I feel a beat down coming on.
  • In case you missed it, Texas lost to Iowa State at home. That's an Iowa State team ranked 112th in total defense and 104th in total offense, and was beaten by Oklahoma by 52. Oh, my.
  • Baylor could beat the Texas v. UCLA team or Texas v. Iowa State team, but will get killed by the Texas v. Nebraska team.
  • And Baylor was also #25 in the BCS rankings. So they're telling me there's a chance for a National Championship? (That's a movie reference that you'll either get or not.)
  • I can't tell you how great Baylor's quarterback is. The guy is a world class sprinter but decided to stay put and pass for over 400 yards on Saturday.  He takes a below average team to, admittedly, a slightly above average team. And for that, I'm thankful.
  • I'm still amazed at how TCU's defense shut him down. No one else has.
  • Baylor, and I can't believe I'm saying this, leads the nation in total offense.
I haz pre-season arrogance syndrome.

Has Chico won a football game yet?

This seems to be a charmed year for you BG, and you are obviously enjoying the moments as you live them.

I'm happy for you.

Now could you please pick up that mock trial reading again? Maybe after the World Series? Maybe??? : )

People underrate Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads. That guy's got something. Unlike Gene Chizik, he has the ability to coach the spare to fair player to play above his ability. The other Big (12-2) schools had better get used to seeing ISU and Baylor as something other than an automatic W. They may not win the conference title but they'll make sure to muddy the water.

I'm a grad of an Iowa FCS school so I don't have a dog in the Big (12-2) fight. I just happened to witness a lot of bad Cyclone football in the Big 8. Oof, Madonn'!

Hate to admit it, but as a Texas fan, I am concerned about the Baylor game. Baylor has always been what would be considered an extremely easy win.

This year, Baylor is up while Texas is really struggling. Would not surprise me at all to see Baylor win. Knew that would make you happy!

Plus, there is the possibility of several staff changes being made sometime soon. Many people have been yelling for Greg Davis to be fired. This may be the final straw for that to happen.

Note in the Wall Street Journal today that this is the first time since 1985 that there are two Texas teams in the top 25 (TCU and Baylor) that does not include either Texas or A & M.

I must thank and congratulate Baylor for being in the Top 25.

Helps TCU's schedule strength.

Still: "Eff Ann Richards."

The beat down chico got wasn't nearly as bad as the one the coach put up on the high school student on the 15th. How that one hasn't got out despite them having video surveillance of it and the wise county sheriff was called in is incredible. The super must be working overtime to keep that one from being reported to the state!

Did Decatur beat that team BYE???
If they don't I bet they will want Turf to play on

The way I understand it is the football team was having a team only meal in the lunch room after a pep rally or right after school. A non athlete went in there and was told to leave the meal. He mouthed off and left but a coach tracked him down and shoved him up against a wall in the hall. The cops had to be called in to sort it all out but the kid ended being told not to say anything and they wouldn't get him in trouble for pushing the coach off of him. I know they have the whole thing on surveillance which is even more odd they tried to hide it.
The coach was the head honcho of the football team and the kid was a Hispanic male. Seems like the super is trying to keep it all under the rug.

Messican needed a good butt kickin he thought it was the free lunch room.

It was only a free lunch room for the football team and I guess the super agrees with you. If a white student got assaulted in any way some one would be relieved of their duties immediately!
