Edit: Victim Impact Statement being read:
Heading out of courthouse:
And the judge allowed a video camera in the courtroom so I expect it'll be on one of the local newscasts.

soon! Double fake Sheriff Walker

Glad to see York got life without parole rather than death. I doubt York being sentenced eases the pain and suffering of Officer White's friends and family. Hopefully, York's family and people who would follow in York's footsteps are better for having a defective human, like York, put behind bars and, forever, out of society.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Another mouth to feed for years. Hopefully someone will take his life sooner and save our tax dollars. Farewell you P.O.S.

I respect District Judge John Fostel, but disagree with letting cameras inside the courtroom.

This reeks of sensationalism. Does this particular trial really need this? And if so, for what reason?

Absolutely, killing a police officer is horrible, but what about sexually abusing a child?

How much exposure with cameras in the courtroom will this kind of trial get?

very well said 6:15.

We need a picture of good people like Sergio Gonzalez on here, not a POS like this trash!

How come when someone dies they are such a good person?? were they not a good person while alive?

Anonymous said...

Please realize Mr York has three kids that may read this

You people need to have respect for the family of Mr. York. Keep your words to yourself.

York KILLED someone and needs to pay. It is not his family that made him do it.,,,,he did it on his own. Sheriff, take him to TDC today and see that Wise County is rid of this POS

9:17 I hate that anyone who kicks the bucket is automatically a hero. Stupid thing some folks do; if I hated them alive, I hate them equally as much dead.

9:33 Everyone has family who may read this blog. get over it.

Victim impact statements make my blood boil....always too much whining and sensationalism. Keep your emotions to yourself. I personally don't give a damn to hear your bawling and snotting. We all have problems and yours are no worse than anyone else's.

CT..Mmmmm....ya think he might have been crying? Geeezzz...

Hey, 11:27, if you knew the family of Mr. York, you would know they think he did nothing wrong and that it is the police departments fault for not stopping him. So don't take pity on them. They don't deserve it.

Hopefully, York's children and the children of other people read this and LEARN, from York's crime and wasted life, that people who make HORRIBLE choices have a HORRIBLE end and are reviled by civilized people and forever thought to be the scum of humankind.

I will not, merely because their family is watching/listening/reading, speak kindly or curb my disgust of ANYONE who MURDERS another human. York viciously murdered another human and York is, more than, deserving of public disdain and derision. I hope, York comes to suffer the same soul crushing heartache of missing the birth and joy of grandchildren, missing final moments with his parents as they pass away, realizes he is not able to help his children in hard times or share their happiness in joyous times just as Officer White's family will suffer, longing and grief, upon each special moment they miss with their loved one because York took it upon himself to MURDER Officer White.

As for York's family, they should be thankful they have been shown more compassion, by society, than York showed Officer White's family and will have contact with Steven York, albeit, while he rots in prison.

9:37 you are a heartless bastard. Sgt. White has a daughter that will not see her dad again. A Widow who will no longer get to be held by her husband. Victims deserve to have the right and express their loss. I hope you too suffer a loss equal and are allowed the few moments to express how the suspect made you feel.

YESSSSSSSSSSSS, mschief, way to put it in words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10:46 Everyone has pain and loses loved ones, me included. I don't need to hear about someone else's and I don't expect them to have to care about mine. Keep your crying and whining to yourself, cuz most folks truly just don't give a damn.
anyone who hasn't lost someone hasn't lived very long. they need to get over it and not burden the rest of us with their crap.

Anonymous said...

they need to just put him down like a street dog and forget about him...it not like anyone tried to help him when he wasn't in custody... put him down and he will be foor gotten in a few days...

9:37 I love it. preach on brother!!
Policemen take they job knowing that they might be killed. They are the ones Not thinking about the wife and kids..

Anonymous said...

amen 2:22. They knew the risk was there when they took it. If you can't handle the job, quit, but don't expect sympathy when the going gets tough. Cops die; not a big surprise. When you marry a cop, you know the risks.

mzchief said...

To anonymous 2:22...
For the most part, members of law enforcement are thinking about EVERYONE's wife and kids and they take the job to protect civilized people from predatory scum, like you and York, in an attempt o maintain society.

Anonymous said...

MZ: FYI, I am not "predatory scum". I am an educated person with a master's degree, employed in management in a medical professional, actually. I just don't think cops deserve preferential treatment. They chose their path. I chose mine. I don't have to consider their worth any more than mine or more than the trash collector or the grocery sacker. All humans are equally valuable and just because someone CHOOSES to wear a badge doesn't make them special. If I contract a disease from a patient and die, that was my CHOICE. No need to weep crocodile tears over my death or hail me as a heroine. I was just doing my job and accepting the risks which came with it. End of story.

Anonymous said...

Most become cops because that is the only thing they can do!!! Why would you take a job with low pay if it were not a power trip or the ONLY thing you could do. Dont give me to protect the people that is a croc of shit and most of them know it. I am a EX COP I been there and done it myself

It's amazing what fertilizer, flashlight batteries, cold medicine and baking soda will do to a person.

I never expected the East exit, somebody has been reading the blog. We always exit on the West where the posse was set up.

To anonymous 4:15...
I disagree with you. I believe, ANYONE who elects to do a job, that puts themselves at risk, to aid random strangers does indeed deserve the appreciation of the public. However, the mere fact you would agree with and cheer on someone who belittles the service a police officer provides to humankind and society does make you scum. The fact you reap a benefit from the risks and sacrifices made by other people and have no gratitude for their sacrifices makes you a parasite, rather than a predator.

If you are, as you claim, a "medical professional," your attitude goes a long way to explaining why health-care, in the US, is going down the crapper. I would not want someone with your attitude attending to the medical needs of an animal much less a human.

Hey Mz,
How bout the part where no one made these people go listen to the Vic Impact Statement?? They knew it was going to happen, if they didn't want to hear it they shouldn't have gone.
Cowards like york, traded for a pack of smokes on a daily basis behind bars...

I love your words, Mz!!!

And H.O.Y., maybe so, maybe so, but a chilling picture all the same.

I hope York Burns in Hell. He is a rapist, a murderer and deserves to DIE. To hell with his family or his kids
