Random Monday Morning Thoughts

  • The First Baptist of Dallas is building a new $130 million 3,000 seat sanctuary in downtown Dallas. Those fellowship churches are making it hard to keep up with the Jones'.
  • Eye gouge the weekend in a college football game.
  • I'm convinced Texas, after killing OSU, will be in the National Championship game, and TCU may be having their best season ever that no one cares about.
  • Moonwalk fail. This made me laugh.
  • Last night I dreamed I was at the White House and sat by Sarah Palin (???) who accused me of stealing her old Polaroid camera. The the dream evolved into my "got to get to class but don't know my schedule" dream.
  • The ladies at my cleaners are now asking me questions regarding legal advice. Sheesh.
  • Two motorcycle deaths over the weekend -- but that's the first time I've heard of any in a couple of months.
  • NBA player swats a bat out of the air on Halloween. What?
  • Odd pet peeve of mine: Those that end every blog post with "But what the hell do I know?" or "I could be wrong."
  • My Halloween costume was a straight jacketed mental patient. It was a good look.
  • The Cowboys Stadium had its huge end zone doors open but not the roof yesterday -- apparently Jerry didn't want the sun beating down on the crowd. (From The Ticket this morning: "It's kind of like ordering the sun roof option for your car that you never really use."

Texas loses to Aggies.
Iowa loses to Buckeyes.
Cincy loses to Pitt.
Alabama loses to LSU.
LSU loses to Florida.

TCU slams Utah and wins out.

Are the Frogs in a National Championship game, if all this happens?

The very fact these swindlers called churches build nultimillion dollar facilities is proof that there isn't really a god.

I could be wrong, but what the hell do I know?

Can you catch an "STD" by looking at a picture? cause I believe I just did so I called my doctor.

I hope 8:14 is correct on the outcome of those games but TCU will not get the bid for the National Championship even if they end up 11-0. Unfortunately, it's all about the money a school can bring in. I believe the Frogs are under rated, not given the credit they deserve and I hope this year they get a good bowl bid, play one of those "hot-shot, top teams" and kicks the crap out of "em". Texas and Florida are over rated for sure and I believe there'll be a loss for at least one if not both before the end of the season. GO FROGS!!!!!! Oh, by the way, don't give me that "strength of schedule" crap either. For instance, USC was ranked in the top five prior to Saturday and got the living crap beat out of them by Oregon who I don't believe was even in the top 25.

Does anyone know something about a chase involving a pickup and trailer along with 4 cop cars in Decatur early Saturday morning?

Don't worry about the Florida player performing the eye gouge. Tim Tebow can heal the blind...or so I was told by the CBS/ESPN/SEC media.

Be (-headslap-) Healed!

I have heard about the police chase. The DPS guy shot out the tires and I think they had to taser the thief.

I could be wrong. What the hell do I know?

Um 8:36, Oregon was 10th in the BCS and was beaten badly by Boise State in their opener. Iowa and Alabama seem to struggle every week against inferior teams. TCU has to blow out everyone and they can get a BCS game, but no matter what, no title game. Hell, did you see the crowd against UNLV, half empty.

9:21, you're correct on Oregon at 10th on BCS, I'm old sorry!! But I have to say their offense was something I haven't seen in some time. Speed, Speed, Speed!! The cameraman even became lost on a number of plays. They're fast on the ground, through the air and even with fakes. Their offensive line is loaded with the biggest players I've seen in a while. They must all be Tonganese. I'm not even an Oregon fan but was totally impressed with their speed and the butt whipping they gave pretty boy Pete Carroll and the left coast team.

It's OK Barry I can go to WalMart and someone I know will randomly pull off their sock and want me to look at their "fungus" - it could always be worse!!!!!

Did anyone go to the shindig at the civic center?

Danny B...Alabama has really only struggled two weeks this season and mainly against Tennesse, a conference rival. Texas and Florida have both had tough weeks as well. Florida struggled against Tennesee, and Arkansas; Texas really only stuggled against Oklahoma, but didn't look all that great against Tech and Colorado.

Yes, Boise St. beat an Oregon team early in the year, doubt they could beat them If they played now. Boise St. strength of schedule, with the exception of Oregon, is completely and utterly horrible at best. I hate to say it, but neither TCU nor Boise deserve top ten rankings.

The addition to FBC in Dallas will beautify the entire downtown area.

It is an old established church that is steeped in solid tradition.

I'm proud for them.

And I'm not even Baptist!

DocLogic:
why is it that none of your posts contain any logic?
By the way, the word is "voila", not "walla".

I could be wrong, but look it up for yourself

10:53 - Thanks for saving me from having to be the spelling / grammar Nazi.......

"walla".....good grief!

951 you sound just like that idiot nurse from alvort.

10:19, If TCU was given the opportunity to play a team in a bigger conference you may be suprised. I still believe people are selling them short and it's only because of who they play. Don't forget a few years ago when the Frogs met USC in the Sun Bowl and won. They weren't picked to win because of their schedule but, "VOILA"!!!

Anonymous said...

"walla" is redneckese for "voila"

11:44, I am not dogging TCU, they have been very good this year and I hope they get a shot, but under the current BCS system I don't feel they would deserve it over a one loss Texas, Alabama, or Florida even if they win out. NCAA football definately needs a playoff system, then these issues would be settled on the field and not by computers.

"The addition to FBC in Dallas will beautify the entire downtown area." and show what a bunch of hypocrites the members are as you watch them with their noses in the air driving past hungry homeless people on the streets in front of their shiny new house of mammon. WWJD indeed.

anon 10:38 It makes me sick, and I'm an atheist.
