One Of The Many Single Women Who Want To Marry Me . .

. . . just uploaded this pic of her modeling 5 carat, $178,000 Diamond which will be auctioned by the U.S. Marshal's office in Arlington. (Another case of the government seizing property.)

If it's to be used as an engagement ring, it appears that she's wearing it on the wrong hand.
Having recently purchased and "presented" one, I tend to notice such things.

IN CASE ANYBODY WONDERS WHY OUR BANKS ARE HAVING TROUBLE . . .
Just got off the phone with Wells Fargo, trying to make a Mortgage Payment. But . . . Since I owe 3 payments (as of Monday) they can't take less than 2 payments. Trying to give bank money - they won't take it.

Nothing says true love like a ring purchased through a government forfeiture auction!

2:55, I would think that any business with customers who take money, products or services up front, but later don't pay for it or just want to pay "some", would have problems. Not at all a knock on you or your situation, but it's fascinating when people who borrow a bunch of money, whether mortgaging a house, financing a car, or just using credit cards; complain that the person or company that gave them all the money up front wants to be fully paid back as agreed by contract. If you loaned me some money, and then later I told you I was giving back half, take it or leave it, what makes you the bad guy in that situation? And yet we HATE the banks, credit card companies, as if they went out and FORCED people to get mortgages, buy new trucks and use credit cards.

So sad the lifestyle Mrs. Green #4 was "forced" to go down. Hope you're happy with yourself.

2:55, Barry supports the guy who wants to spread the wealth and use taxpayers money to make mortgages payments for people who can't make their payments. Why don't you check in with him and let him prove how strongly he believes that way by redistributing his bank account to your mortgage payment.

I really think that is a much to high price on that ring, to even think about bidding.

0528, my impression of 0255's situation isn't that he/she was going to skip out on payments - just wasn't able to get totally current at present.

Having been a lender, it's generally poor practice to turn away money when it's tendered, even if it's not everything owed at the time. It doesn't mean the remaining balance isn't still due.

Especially in today's economy, it makes sense to work with borrowers who are making a good faith effort to repay, as 0255 appears to be. The costs associated with the alternative, foreclosure, are astronomical, as are costs to carry, maintain, and market the property. Also, the regulators look askance at holding the properties for long, which could be a real prospect in the current, down, market.

If I'd had a borrower 90 days past due who presented two months of payments, sure, I'd have granted forbearance on collection actions.

BG probably knows something about this from his days as a bank director.

I think you should have spoken with someone at Wells Fargo that knows what they're doing. Were you speaking to a teller? or a loan officer? You do realize, if you don't get satisfaction you CAN go to a supervisor... or even the bank president. Right?

I want to buy a car today. And I don't want to save my own money up to get it. Since I do not have enough money, I want some of you to give me the money, then I'll go get the car with the money you gave me and until I pay you back you can keep title of the car.
BUT, since you are EVIL, maybe I'll just keep the car and not pay you back what I owe you, then complain about you as if you did something wrong by allowing yourself to be duped by me.

Republican 2:55, I did not read that "they" were just trying to pay half. They were trying to pay "some", which is more than "nothing" and if a lender lends regardless of how irresponsible the lendee is, turning down any money is really kinda stupid. Republican like, if you must. If you owe me a million bucks, and try to pay half of it with intent to pay the other half when you can, I would be (Republican) stupid if I said "Hell No!" All or nothing....Republican Stupid. Looked in a picture dictionary of Stupid and there was a photo of W. Bush.
