Joe Barron, 52, was arrested in Bryan, Texas, after he drove more than three hours to have sex with a person he thought was a 13-year-old girl, according to police.
He is one of about 20 ministers from Prestonwood Baptist Church, the Plano megachurch.

Prestonwood, understandably, has disabled the information on its website as to who this guy is but a Google cache lists him as "Minister Adult Married III." Oh, my, indeed. The privates are going to be the downfall of society.

If his defense, unlike Catholic priests, it wasn't a boy.
Moses was a murderer, (King)David an adulterer, Simon Peter a blasphemer...yet all were men of God and used by Him. I just hate hearing people losing faith in faith whenever a supposed Christian falls. It happens...doesn't make his/her beliefs any less true.

I don't get it....is your life a lie...do you go to the other extreme because you know your urges are wrong. You should be able to have comfort that your children are safe in church. I remember telling my older sisters that there were not preachers like the one that batized me anymore. Only to find out he had tried to molest one of them. My heart broke...such evil..and I never even knew. I so believe in Christ but I have no religion.
Usually the dude has that,"I just butt raped my entire life" look but, he looks kind of arrogant. I bet he's stoned. Wonder how long before somebody finds him swinging from the rafters of his garage?

I'm torn on the internet predation issue. If they are caught dead to rights-kill 'em I don't care. But,at the same time they are going to prison and having their own and families lives destroyed over a fictional victim. And,I mean fictional as in doesn't exist and was in fact created by the enforcers of the law. That feels dirty. I'm torn.
5:35 - lots of child predators work their evil deeds inside places where children are gathered.
Many churches are now doing criminal background checks on ANY person that works with children and/or youth.
The best way we can protect them is through education and it has to start really early before they are even ready to discuss sexual things.
We live in a scary world.
Unless you were a youth minister and "doin it for the chicks". Why on earth would you bother?
