This is a waste of my city tax dollars...I think one of these vehicles is sufficient and do not know why we need two. Especially to roam about the city limits of Decatur.....I would understand Chief Richardson having one, he is the chief.....
That's what I was talking about when I said you can tell when the budget gets approved! The city has began the spending process-fixing stop signs & getting new cars!
It's about time Decatur stepped up the look of City vehicles. Just because we are a small town and don't have the tax base of places like Southlake (I said tax base not taxes I realize our taxes are just as high)is no reason to have city vehicles that look like crap. It looks good, it doesn't look "Podunk" and we need to look good not "Podunk". Look at our ambulances, hell, they look good as well.
I can assure you this was not the Wise County Fire Marshall vehicle that passed me going like a bat out of hell on FM677 north of Forestburg recently.....what I saw looked like a Ford with a camper, but it was marked "Wise County Fire Marshall".
And at least one other speed-limit-driving Montague Countian, in addition to myself, was passed as if they were sitting still, according to what you allowed to be posted on your blog.
But, but, but he was just going to a Homeland Security Meeting in Saint Jo (DONUTS), where they doled out all those bucks (NEW FANCY TRUCK FOR THE DEPUTY FIRE MARSHALL). I see some rewards have been reaped.
You got one thing wrong in your denial of posting my post about that, B. I am a lady, and I am a biatch when it comes to tailgating speeders.
It may be city money that bought the vehicles, but were they bought in the city. Chances are they weren't. The city and county spends a lot of money, but how much of it stays in the city or the county? Support of local businesses is a thing of the past.
First off, 4:26, That is the CITY fire marshal's vehicle...nothing to do with the COUNTY fire marshal at all.
10:06, they were bought in the city. Go to a council meeting or read the paper every now and then so you can get your facts straight before you whine.
And 1:27...have a personal problem there? You obviously don't know either of those guys. They both might be a lot of things, but lazy isn't one of them. And about the Impala...about the same money.
Why don't a few of you whiners just go ask Chief Richardson about some of your concerns. I have, and he might not give you the answer you want but he will give you an honest, straight-forward, and professional response.
what the hell is going on here? why does decatur spend all this money on fire and those in positions that are not needed? i beleive boyd and rhome fire department go on more calls than decatur just based on all the accidents on their highways. decatur is waisting money and creating positions that are pointless. they sit at that station all day collecting money.
oh, and drive around fancy SUVs that are not needed.
Hey, if Decatur doesn't provide this kind of snappy ride for their fire marshal, then what would Bowie, Runaway Bay or Bridgeport do? Don't you get it? Each jurisdiction just ups the anty so the other guys can say they must keep up. It's a circular argument that only costs us tax payers and gives these loafers an excuse to increase their budgets.
I bet if you ever need the the Decatur Fire Department, you will be glad their city is willing to buy dependable vehicles to arrive at your time of need instead of having old, run down equipment. Always something for someone to complain about.
How far would the bucks spent on this ride have gone for another REAL fire-fighting vehicle, not just one the muckity-mucks can sit in while eating donuts as they watch the fire burn?
How much of this money could have been used for CPR training dummies, new gear or spent on getting a land survey for the new fire station. One vehicle would have been enough. Everyone does need to go to the council meeting to help put a stop to this waste and there is a meeting tonight.
Can someone educate me on how the County Fire Marshall justifies blazing all the way across the county with lights going, well in excess of the speed limit? What time critical position does he fill when he arrives? Don't we have local fire personnel that can handle command of a fire or accident? If not, maybe our fire marshall should spend more time training firefighters and less time fantasizing about being a nascar driver.

Looks Great!
It would look better with nicer rims!!
Sweet ride.
I don't know..... I guess if the city is looking for a response such as....
"Sweet ride." and, "It looks good, it doesn't look "Podunk"
it was well worth the money to paint it like that. Afterall, these are very important factors in determining the color of a fire marshall's auto.
Geeeez.....

Much needed!! Now Brett get the P.D. some new rides.
They gotta find a way to spend it! Otherwise, someone will say they need to give back the surplus!
Wow...the rims and wheels are still on it.....for now.
Double Fake "Light Fingers" Louie
Now why does being a fire marshal require such a slow gas hog? I thought getting to a fire quickly is the point.
Surely a Subaru station wagon would suffice. Holds the same amount of people and equipment, and far more off-road capability than that POS.
The same could be said for the sheriff's office trucks. Officers complain about slow Crown Vics, and then they get an even slower F-150.
Dee Roy be rolling in dat bad m f ing ride..chit i be starting firas just to see dat bitch roll..
6:49...Well said homey.

those to rides could had paid the annual salary of two more firemen.
sick.

Decatur has a Deputy Chief City Fire Marshall?

This is so sad. Why do we need 2
Duh ! ZZ TOP provided the graphics. The firefighters are always humming "Two Snake Boogie".
Hey 10:08, DUH your own self! It's TUBE snake Boogie, not Two Snake Boogie.

Duh ! 11:53 . Barry doesn't approve stuff like that often.
