There's a story on the news tonight about a guy in Dallas who has killed two people on two separate occasions over the last couple of weeks after they broke into his shop.
Fox 4's Rebecca Aguilar kind of ambushed the 70 year old shooter today with an interview. I hate watching video on news sites as much as you do, this is probably worth it. I'm not sure what she is so hostile about.

"The right to bare arms" comes to mind. Guess she hasn't read that part. Over paid and a 'putz' she is.
If they would only have broken in at the same time and stood beside each other he could have gotten them both with one shot. Then he wouldn't have to have bought a new gun.
I bet his place won't be broken into much in the near future.
True Crime Prevention at its finest.
What liberal bias in the media?
If another one breaks in next week he should shoot that one, too. Eventually they'll catch on. Or wait until he isn't home, then break in and steal his guns.
I suppose he has to buy more guns because the other ones are taken by the police as evidence.
Bottom line: they're criminals, and he has a right to protect his property!
guns = bad
criminals = good.
He had every right to shoot both men. If that happened more often, maybe we wouldn't have as many crimes.
What a big C! The guy just did what he felt he needed to do, he said he was not even put in that situation in the army. What does that tell you about this crazy world?
The guy has to defend his property twice and the cops take his gun away?
Where the hell are they when his place is being broken into?
Oh, right...probably writing tickets somewhere for people going 5 mph over the speed limit.
The reporter can suck it, too. Because these two guys are dead they won't be breaking into her place anytime soon.
Ole Rebecca out there attempting to win that national emmy for a news story. What a joke! When she put herself between the door and the drivers side and began asking the stupid questions, she's lucky he didn't shut the door on her. You talk about invading someones space and appearing somewhat threatning. If she would do her homework or just listen to THE NEWS, she would have known the guy's place had been broken into over 40 times in the last year or so. Yes, he's probably a crotchity old fart but he's also probably tired of the doper's breaking into his place and stealing his property. The guy has burglar alarms, camera's and an eight foot fence. What else does RRRebecca want him to do? And, it drives me nuts when she rrroles her "R's" when she pronounces her name. Jeez. She needs to go try picking on someone that will tell her to kiss their butt and see how that goes. If it happened more often their would be less burlaries.
preach on 8:53pm
I'll bet that if somoeone was breaking into her house she would think about shooting someone. If that would happen around here more often it may get some criminal's attention. If you have the nerve to break into someone's house or business, you have all rights to have your ass shot.
This "interview" goes to show you that there are some people out there that just don't get it.
I always hate it when a reporter asks 'is a _____ worth someone dying for?' (insert name of item they were attempting to steal).
I am waiting on a home/business owner to look into the camera and say, 'Why don't you ask the dead guy? He tried to steal it and he wound up dead, so apparently he thought it was worth dying for'.
The guy was broken into 40+ times, and asked for help. Well, he did not get it, so he felt he needed to take care of his own stuff. I do not get the nerve, and attitude of the reporter. Do the story, if felt needed, but do not belittle or rude to a gentleman that is probably going through the turmoil of killing two people. I hope she never interviews a molested person.
There used to be a pawn shop owner someplace in California - probably L.A. - who over the years had shot and killed about 6 different guys who tried to rob him. He was pretty much considered a hero, especially by the neighboring shop owners, who had had employees killed in robberies. This guy had every right to defend himself and his property. And has every right to do it again and again.
Now WHO said Fox4 news is conservative? How strange. What a load of liberal drivel. Did you see the picture of one of the burglars? A FINE, outstanding citizen, no doubt (heavy sarcasm). The burglars chose to live a life of wrong, and met a "sticky" end, as the English would say. No story, no news. Like I always say, our media wouldn't know a story (or a NON-story) if it hit them in the face.
I've always believed that thieves are one of the lowest life forms there is...this man had every right to protect HIS property. He was obviously upset that he had to protect his property in such a way...shame on that reporter, she should be the one who is ashamed. This man has probably worked very hard his whole life to build a business...those thieves had NO right to take it away.
But, WWJD?
It was also very responsible journalism that he asked her to turn off the camera, so she just had it pointed at the ground, then got a shot from afar. How ethical!
9:05 Jesus would have shot them
mathew 24:43 says>" But, be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into"
I wonder if he owns a 50-caliber sniper rifle. Those always come in handy when you need to defend your power tools.
I think he should put a big sign on his property that says:
Owner 2 Burglars 0
WWJD???
He would have smote him.
everyone needs to go to myfoxdfw.com and complain. write to tellitottim.
rebecca was way out of line. and she is not even goodlooking. if megan would have,... no nevermind, she never would have.
This positive discussion does my heart good. Burglars should be fair game, and under the law, it's perfectly all right to kill a burglar. I think Ms. Aguilar might be concerned that there might be a disproportionate number of minority burglars killed, but when they are sneaking around in the dark it is hard to tell what their ethnic background is. No matter if they are white, black, or hispanic, burglars should be aware that most homeowners nowadays are packing heat.
Jesus would have used His authority by His spoken Word and commanded the thief to leave. He didn't need a weapon. (Peter was the one who did the "smiting.")
However for most people who don't have that kind of faith, a weapon will have to do.
Look, isn't it beautiful? Both liberal weenies and conservative war mongols agree that it is acceptable to kill the thieving b@st@rds. If life were only so simple. Let us hug.
This property is protected by Smith&Wesson, sometimes, you guess the time!
Would have been funny if he screamed really loud "Help! Somebody help me! I am being carjacked!" and then loaded up that Remington 870 pump and shot her in the face.
12:50
Welllllll...we have some Bible study to do tonight...now don't we. The word "smote" is used 220 times in the King James version of the Bible, 204 times in the Old Testament and 16 times in the New Testament.
Now...let's research specific passages....shall we???
I believe the passage you are referencing is either Math 26:51, Mark 14:47, Luke 22:50 or John 18:10. The passage the writer had in mind while composing their contribution to BU-Bear's Blog was Acts 12:23.
Thank you to Dr. Pitts, Old Testament studies and Dr. Fleischman, New Testament studies.
Double Fake Church Lady
in texas we have the castle doctrine and this man followed the law to a tee nd i doubt he wanted to kill anyone but what 70 year old man is going to beat up the two attackers he defended hi self and his property i hope to see more of this in hopes that those crimals who seem to always be the ones hollaring about thier rights our having millons do it for them will learn that you do not have the right to break into a place of bussiness and or house and do as you please with out being killed
Maybe "smote" is a Bible spelling error. Probably meant to be "smoked" as in "They smoked a bunch of'em back in Bibical Times for various reasons."
Wonder what Ms Aguilar would have done if this guy was breaking into her home? Maybe said, "WAIT...lemme get my camera and we'll do an interview/intervention and save your sweet soul!" I doubt it, she'd have had her hubby shoot the guy too! I hate hipocrits!
If you folks all insist on killing perfectly good criminals aren't you afraid Barry will eventually run out of customers, go broke, and have to get a real job which will not allow all this enlightening blogging? Thimk deep.
WWJD?
I bet you both dead robbers know the answer to that question...
"The guy has to defend his property twice and the cops take his gun away?"
The gun getting taken is for the grand jury. The man still has to go before the grand jury about the shooting. They have to say if he was acting in self defense. When they do, which they will, he gets his gun back. The cops go through the same thing when they shoot someone.
