Football Finale

The Florida Gators are rolling over #1 Ohio State at halftime. I'm just depressed because this is the last college football game until September. And no matter how good this game is, it won't match Texas/USC from last year. And I'm still haven't ruled out last weeks OU/Boise State game as the best game ever. And, finally, I would like to note that I traveled to Florida to watch the Gators play in September of last year. So what happens? They (I think) will win the National Championship. I took a trip to watch Michigan play in 1997 and they ended up as National Champs as well. I think I might be some type of Football Angel.

What about your many trips to Baylor?

OK - now Florida has whupped Ohio State. Now there is only one undefeated team in Div I football - Boise State. So who is the national champion? The team with one loss or the undefeated team? What about the other 1 loss teams - like Auburn who beat Florida?

I vote for Boise State in a playoff with the next best team.

Playoff time-computers and voters cannot pick the best teams

Get that playoff system going. Ohio State had not played for 50 days or so. Tough to play 11 or so weeks in a row and get to the peak of your game and then sit for 50 days. Florida sat for 30 days or so. From junior college to division 2, they have a playoff system but division 1 still does not. Doesn't make sense to me. The Boise State/OU game was the best of the year for sure. Congrats to Florida, they were the best last night. I wonder if the outcome would have been different if the game would have been played 4 or 5 weeks before now.

Maybe you should go to the next Decatur/Abilene Wylie match up!

Boise State is No. 1 and udefeated. No other Div 1 school can say that.

Here's another twist to this story. If USC had not lost to UCLA at the end of the season, it would have been USC playing Ohio State instead of Florida. Florida wouldn't have even had the oppurtunity to play for the championship. Florida should be thanking UCLA for their oppurtunity.

As far as thanking UCLA, how about Michigan who thought they should move form #3 to #2 to play Ohio State. They were passed over and got whipped by USC. Conclusion: we need a playoff system for the top 8 teams.
