Personal Message To Newspaper Guy

I don't know who you are, but you have a job that involves putting the Dallas Morning News in the coin operated machine across from the Messenger office. I normally pick the paper up there around noon. Here's my message: PUT MORE PAPERS IN THERE!!!!!! Half the time they are all gone and the other half of the time I get the last one. When you restock the machine the next day and you see that there are ZERO papers left over, the odds are very high that someone wanted a paper but the machine was empty!

Almost always, paper guys will be very quick to adjust, and they know their sales volumes and placements very well. After all, he or she wants to sell as many as possible. So in a situation like this one, I bet that someone is routinely taking several extra papers without paying, creating a disincentive for more papers to be placed there. A stake out would be a good idea, to see what's going on.

Is this kind of like the idiot wal mart worker who asked to "see my card" when I started to do a debit purchase at the self check out? I dont know why. Debit=PIN number used. Plus, she just looked at my card, not my ID. I dont know how that is supposed to help.

Barry, you'd never make it out in the boonies. Our newspapers have often been run over after being thrown out onto the farm to market road, or tossed into a wet ditch.

The DMN is a terrible rag and I cannot believe anybody would give more money to the Belo corporation.
