It is clearly fake. Camera person knew exactly where to focus, even though it's very hard to tell who had the phone. And, if someone whispering on a cell phone is such a big deal, then how come it's OK for someone else in class to be holding up a camera and recording?
Fake or not, I've sure wanted to do that many times to people who weren't paying attention to what they were doing. I would even stomp on it eight or ten times, to make sure it was in tiny bits.
Even though a goodly number of professors and TAs think they are God most of them are PROFESSIONAL enough that they do NOT resort to the wanton destruction of private property because of the rude behaviour or a student. I DOUBT the clip is "real."
To anonyNOTHING 3:15... IF you have thrown people's telephones into the trash can and have caused damage to THEIR property I am truly surprised you have yet to be sued in small claims court for having INTENTIONALLY damaged someone's property.
Incidentally, I detest people talking or texting while they are in a group setting where everyone is EXPECTED to be paying attention to the film/speaker. I think the talker/texter should be removed from the group however my personal preference is to have them VAPOURIZED!

Trust me, it's real. Once I have warned the class, I take them up and throw them in the trash can with the coffee cups and drink cans.
