The Supreme Court just ruled that the redrawn Congressional districts in Texas that were redrawn in 2003 are (mostly) constitutional.
In other news, former Rep. Charles Stenholm just fell down.

I guess if they had ruled the other way then it would have been justice.
If you don't think the demos gerrymandered the congressional districts in Texas for over 100 years then you must be smoking some of the stuff that you seek to legalize all the time.
Funny, but I don't find or remember where anyone ever sued over gerrymandered districts intexasoverthe last 100 yrs. But then I am not quite 100 years old.
"On June 13, 1996, in the case of Bush v. Vera, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a district court ruling that three U.S. Congressional districts in Texas were unconstitutional because they had been drawn to benefit particular racial groups (116 S.Ct. 1941 [1996]). Texas had gained three more Congressional seats after the 1990 census. The legislature had reconfigured District 18 as a majority African-American district in Harris County, created District 29 as a majority Hispanic district in Harris County, and created District 30 as a majority African-American district in Dallas County."
1. Did you mean "white" African Americans? There are thousands of them you know. 2.Are you saying republicans are God or just represent him in government? If thats the case I wonder who the democrates represent?

Charlie was an effective Representative. Too bad the farmers of this state lost his tenure. The idiot in Lubbock is a Bush lockstepper.
God bless the conservative republicans and down with the liberal flag burners! Except the great Berry Green! We love you Berry!
Apparently, it is ok to screw democrats but not hispanics. So sayeth the Supremes.
