Whew. That Almost Ruined My Weekend.

Today the Senate failed, by one vote, to pass a proposed constitutional amendment that would ban flag burning. I fully expect the sun not to come up tomorrow and civilization to be over.

Ohmygosh! Our Congress is spending their valuable time on this kind of crap while our soldiers are dying, our boarders are under assault, the planet is being warmed and polluted, the President seems to feel he needn't follow some laws, and our budget is out of control. Geeeze, these guys really have their priorities in order.

10:11 And to ad to your list, what about all the money we are borrowing from our trading partners, Japan and China?
Sorry, the President's economic polices aren't working! American workers wages are going down and families are borrowing money to pay their bills. How many manufacturing jobs have been sent offshore so Big Corporations can make more profits and pay their CEO's more money? And health care costs keep going up and up and up. And big oil profits are off the chart while we pay through the nose at the gas pump! The squeese is on the average American family but are they doing anything about this in Congress? NO! And they won't until the people say enough and sent their butts home! Talk talking jobs, health care, energy in Congress!

Bush and the Republican are touting a gaining in "jobs." But ask them how many of those new jobs are government jobs. Bush has greatly expanded the government payroll while claiming to be against "big government." And when they talk about troop reductions in Iraq, ask how many more mercenaries (civilians) they are sending in. These civilians get paid much more than our soldiers and do far less work. They certainly have a negative impact on our troops' morale. Bush has proved to very truth challenged.

8:20AM, you forgot a large part of the problem. People who would rather buy cheap merchandise than items made in the US. How much would you pay for something made here versus overseas?

You seem to forget consumers voted with their money. You've made your bed, now lie in it.

You sound like the fireworks stand operators crying about their income drying up. Adapt or perish.

Great post, Clue. Hey Goober, I remember Reagan inheriting a 21% interest rate from Jimmuh Carter and bringing it down. I wonder why first time home buyers is at an all time high if things are so bad right now?

So, you people are ok with burning our flag? Idiots! Why not burn the Washington monument, the Lincoln Memorial...etc if you want to make a "statement." Our country will never stand united with folks like you who have no patriotism. You ok with the Mexican flag wavers? Remember the "do not tread on me."? You people stand for nothing... because you are fine with burning and destroying the one symbol that says USA! Take a hike! Your not AMERICANS!
