Thank you, Ronald Reagan.

I don't think this is Star Wars. This is GWB. This is the system where they have never come closer than several hundred yards to a missile that it was seeking. Of course, that was announced as a "success".

Kim Jong II is the nutcase that we should have been after this whole time. I'm telling y'all that guy is crazy.

This missile defense system has been in the works since 1998. I did some research and discovered that Bush was not president in 1998. This was Reagan's idea but the democrats fought it and called it junk science. They might want to rethink about defending our country now that they are the ones that sold this idiot the technology to use it against us. Thank you Bill Clinton..

It is/was junk science in the realm of using ballistic missiles to hit a MIRV. The Patriot was a failure against Scuds (until it was revamped). If Wernher von Braun says its bunk, you sure as hell know it is a piece of junk. That ex-German did more for this country than that charlatan actor Bonzo-- I mean Reagan.

So we should just give up and let tryants take pot shots at us and not even try to defend ourselves. Yea, that kind of fits in with the liberal mantra, Cut and Run. You liberal weenies always criticize but never offer up a plan of your own.

von Braun died in 1977 3 years before Reagan was elected president. Did you dig him up to get that quote from him? Nice try...

wow - how impressive - and just how much fuel did it take to get that missile up?

And where did it all come from?

The "success" story is oil.

Check out this war.

In my days working at various SAGE sites, we were live online with the BOMARC missles! I guess those were the Good-Old Days?

reagan you retard, the initial work on a missile defense system began in the '70s at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

We aren't "trying" to defend ourselves. This is pissing in the wind. It doesn't work. So you'd like to have this talisman which it just as effective as putting up a screendoor on a submarine.

And it was Reagan that had the forsythe to fund it heavily for times like this. If you were in charge, there never would have been an automobile, airplane, or toaster oven because the first prototype didn't work.

I guess the folks at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory wouldn't listen to your man von Braun either.

reagan, I realize you must be an experienced military expert and have extensive missile knowledge. When I was in USAF in '60's we were aware of the USSR's anti-missile defense system and disregarded it as ineffective. We attempted our own system (code named Safeguard) in late 60's. It never worked. Spent zillions of dollars and never used it. Our whole nuclear defense philosophy was the MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction). This worked vs. USSR. However, we have no effective defense against goofy nutz like N. Korea or possibly Iran. If they really want to deliver a couple of bombs to us, it would be much more effective to put it in a container and ship it over here.

Sure hope we don't try to use Reagan's Star Wars system against this Korean missile test - cause it'll just be another embarrassment.

I just retired from Northrup Grumman, and I can assure you ground based missile defense is just a counter measure. 10 years ago we began research on laser space defense, and in early 2000 we put a satellite in orbit using this very technology. It is a hybrid defense/reconnaisance system able of taking extremely high resolution video and images at the ground.

Think again, We do have a defense system, It's called the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and a president that dosent mind using them for our security, and healthy life as we know it.

I'm not worried - I've got a stash of chocolate, peanut butter, water, candles and canned goods in the hallway - just like we did during the Cuban Missile crisis back in the early '60's. Oh yeah, I've added plenty of duct tape and plastic.

If a truckload of mexicans, dope or whatever can get across the border then do you think we have a chance against stopping a nuke from being hauled in if they want too?

The only reason it hasn't happened is they don't have one....YET!

Put Hitlary in office in 2008 and she will make sure they have one, just like BJ gave Korea the technology to make one.
