Saving Private High School Mom

Fox 4 News had a clip tonight on some Alvarado 5th grade teacher showing his class "Saving Private Ryan" at school. Of course, you had to have the very dramatic Jeff Crilley (reporter) talk about all the damage done to the young kids. But I couldn't take my eyes off of one of the mothers that was outraged. I'm forcing all of my dates to grow their hair like that and use the same eyeliner technique. Fifteen second YouTube.com video here.

It is a shame that our kids have to see what our government is putting our young men and women through in a war of choice. WW II was a noble cause fighting a real threat.

I agree with Barry, the lady's hair and makeup are a little wild. But I agree with their argument that it is a little absurd that this teacher showed a rated R movie to ten year olds. Rated R means kids under 17 must be accompanied by parent or adult. I could see sending home a note prior to the showing and getting parents permission and having an alternative activity for those who opted not to view it. But to just show the movie without parental consent is crazy.

These parents need to get a real clue. Even in fifth grade, the F-bomb, ho, slut, bee-otch and everything under the sun is being heard, called and discussed. There is a HUGE element of kids that have grown up in households where the parents don't care about stuff like that..and those kids filth up our schools. Ask any teacher. And Wise County is no exception.

Yes, kids are hearing things at 10 and 11 that they should never hear; however, that does not excuse this teacher's decision to show a graphic movie like that to those children. The "F" bomb is a little different than blood and gore, don't ya think? As a parent, I would be outraged. She had no right to do that. Not all kids are growing up in homes like that.
