In the context of human history and planetary history, there are wide swings in conditions here on earth. At one point, Texas' tallest mountain was under the ocean. You can find seashells on it to this day. Only a few thousand years ago, the ice age had glaciers in Indiana. We are so intelligent, yet so stupid. All it would take is one good volcano to send the earth into "global cooling". Yup, the ice is melting more than normal. Seas are rising more than normal. But it's happened forever, and in both directions, and will continue to do so. It was unusually snowy and cold this winter in New York. Global cooling? Must be, but then how can north Texas have global warming if Easter Sunday is hot?
I wonder if they had a lot of auto emissions back then?
Some how I don't think so. I guess it was just plain hot back then.
I wonder if anybody has looked up in the sky to see the main culprit in the global warmth. And no I am not talking about all the airplanes headed into DFW!!!
Yeah, prior to the invention of the automobile no one ever burned anything for fuel. In fact, if I remember correctly, the industrial revolution was run entirely on pixie-dust.
Actually the industrial revolution ended approx. in the late 1800's. The main source of "go power" was steam, coal, man power, animal power, canals, currents, wind, water, etc. It's just hot.....and I refuse to believe anything that comes from the mouth of Gore.
Global warming. You're nuts. What was making the day so hot back in 1899, or 107 years ago. Was that global warming also? Or might it just be that it was hot?
The over-simplicity of data-less myopic Wise Co (what passes as) thought just boggles me.
No way to explain science to most of you, but attempt to understand that the planet is some 4.5 BILLION years old. Lots of things have changed over that time. BTW, the last glaciers covered No. America over 10,000 years ago. Humans had very little affect on the environment at that time. (Oh yes, while the Bible says humans have only been around for some 4,000 years, scientists say about 2.5 million). Those west Texas mountains were under water most recently some 15 MILLION years ago.
The scientific facts point to a global warming situation amounting to a few degrees per century. Not much but enough to make major changes to the weather, sea levels, the atmosphere, and most life forms on the planet. No sweat tho, we'll all be dead but our descendants will suffer the affects we left on our only living space.

I saw today on the news that the record for April 18th is 100 ... that happened in the 1920's..so it has happened before....

Pro-choice, anti-gun Republican
You haven't experienced green house emissions until you've had copius amounts of beer and pizza at my house.
Who gave the conservatives the power to control the weather? It must have been a greater being.

It is NOT global warming!!! It is just hot air coming from our Republican Texas Legislature.
damn conservatives...
7:27 - I agree with you, but remember Gov. Goodhair got Democrat John Sharp to help him.
Sharp decision. Only good one he's made so far.
4:12 I am still laughing 45 minutes later! Thanks for the giggle!
