"Meetings" Talk

I have to be in a "meeting" at 7:30 a.m. That is too early to be doing anything. I detest meetings. Meetings give me Tired Head. Why do humans have this crazy desire to have "meetings".

I tend to agree. Meetings usually wind up with one person hogging the whole meeting with meaningless blah blah blah or reading a report from a paper as if the group can't read.

Waste of time.

Boring.

Let's have a meeting to ban all meetings. We'll appoint a subcommittee to meet later and look into the feasibility of banning all meetings.

I've always heard meetings would be more efficient if there were no chairs and everyone had to stand the whole time.
Most the time it depends on who is conducting the meeting. If there is an agenda and it is followed and the concept of 'return and report' is used where reports from previous assignments are given, new assignments are made and noted etc.
Just some observations I've had in the many meetings I've attended.

What if Kate Hudson was going to speak at your meeting?

My new pointy haired boss decided we will have meetings at 8:00 AM every morning. No checking email first unless you get there at 7:30. So you go into the meeting with no new information from the previous day.
