The Texas "Crime Stoppers" Mascot Will Haunt Your Dreams

By the way, I've asked this before: What is the balance of the Wise County Crime Stoppers account since everyone on probation has to pay $50 into it, and I've never heard of a dime being paid out.

Ann?

A student from DHS told me today that a $500 reward was paid to the friend of the kid who did the bomb threat about a month ago for ratting the kid out. Not sure where the $500 came from.

They bought the speed trailers for the Decatur police and Bridgeport police a few years ago.

The very purchase of that costume was a waste of taxpayer $!

Go to one of their meetings. Just because you've never heard of payments doesn't mean there aren't any.

They have a lot of money.

Of course, on the basis that you've never heard of a dime being paid out, it must be nefarious.

Narcissist much?

I think we need a crime starters fund as well. People giving out the best ideas for a crime that turns out successful get a reward.

Years ago I was a treasurer for a crime stoppers group in another city. We delivered cash on the sly to informants in public places. It was fun I felt like a spy. Just go a meeting if you are curious.

Post a location where Joe Public can find out what was paid, when and to whom.

If Joe Public is so damned interested, tell him to get some initiative and file a FOIA request, eh?

Don't you know Chad Hightower had been in charge of disbursing those rewards you never heard of, but he is indisposed and in jail now!
