Great Question: What Is the Story?

Link to ad for the place.

I drove by it about five years ago and was confused by it then. An unfinished mansion in Wise County?

I've passed it a thousand times over the past few years.

I was told the owners were building it all with cash. It's a pretty elaborate property so maybe so. Idk

I hope the jumped up white trash that buy the place don't mind the 345 KV powerlines that Oncor so graciously put there.

I guess you could call Ebby and ask her the story.

I heard it was a Devon employee that ran out if money.

You would think for a home at this price, Lyle Reid would at least proof read the slide show. It says "Lyle Reid Presnets" instead of "Lyle Reid Presents."

Its on a fracking fault line!

7:52, if you and all your friends will agree to live without electricity going forward, I'll make sure there aren't any more of those awful power lines.

Maybe some of us could go in on that place so we would have a place to hang out and party.

So the main building isn't finished yet, but the outdoor terrace is (fireplace looks like it's had a fire or two in it), the casita is a separate house that is completed and the "master suite" is the extra long, unfinished building not even attached to the main building? I'm confused. Looks like who ever is/was building this place lives/lived in the casita while the rest is/was being built. Priced a little more reasonably than the last monster mansion you that was for sale in Decatur.

The main building was designed for entertaining and the side building which is just now under construction was going to be the primary residence for the owners, if I remember correctly. We live very close and the owner's are good people. They proteced our house from a fire a few years back while we were gone. I think one of the owner's children lived in the Casita to overlook the property during construction. I hated to see it not finished as I know it was their dream to do so.

Owners moved here from metroplex and bought property. He, I believe, is a financial adviser for large investment company -- and has done quite well. Yes, has paid cash money over the years as they have built it all. He and his sons built that elaborate fence themselves in one of the barns out there. They've thrown a few Veteran's celebrations for our Vets in the county. SUPER nice folks! Some kind of unlucky luck for these folks though. They had site planned for huge home and even had foundation poured. As they waited for the cash to accrue so they could begin to build that home, here comes the electric company and puts those horribly intrusive huge lines right over their foundation. Threw them into significant delay with their plans! Flash forward -- they have continued to improve the property and began to build. Things seemed to be back on track and they were planning to enjoy their retirement years there with the most awesome views in Wise County! Really! Now, it's all for sale. I'm saddened because something has to have happened. I don't know if their health is failing or if something has happened to one/both of them or to family. Certainly is no one's business, but knowing they have worked so hard the last 15 years on the place does make us all wonder what has happened. Wishing them all the best and hoping their health and happiness is in tact... maybe this is all just a change of mind.
