This Really Is Amazing

Not an opinion of the law about Open Carry. But it is just shocking that so many states allow you to walk around with a handgun without a permit or a license.

How dare all those yellow states honor the constitution!

The second amendment, the only one you have to ask for permission to exercise.

I remember in the 90's when we were considering concealed carry, the media used to go interview a guy in Amarillo or thereabouts who carried a six-shooter on his hip. Every time they'd ask him if he knew that carrying a concealed weapon was illegal, and his response was "does this look concealed to you?"

Anyway, I thought open carry was legal in Texas for a while.

I don't find it shocking at all. Your use of hyperbole is funny, as well. People have a God-given right to protect themselves

DANG!! I'm ashamed to be in the same category as Cal, NY, and DC.

Not sure why it's shocking, don't they teach you the constitution in law school?

So, like is blood running in the streets of Dodge City, Deadwood, Carson City, and Cheyenne?

Here's another perspective: If this were a Myers-Briggs or SAT/ACT test - which two of the objects in red don't belong? (It is also a bit surprising that WA, OR, WI, MI, OH, and DE are in yellow).

For me, the real surprise is that Texas isn't one of the orange states. Given that we have 5 MSAs greater than 1 million (the DFW MSA alone is larger than the SC population), I don't see Stickland's version of OC carrying the day, but OC by permit should be doable.

Don't think you can open-carry anywhere in Colorado: it is left up to the local governments.
