D Magazine's Best of Big D 2012 nominees have been announced and I don't think you or Liberally Lean/Dairy Queen made the list.

The report on college football playoffs does not actually indicate there has been any decision or agreement whatsoever. But, I guess in today's blog world, who cares what anyone reports. In other news, Bridgeport has been hit by a comet and no longer exists.

SPRINKLERS ON THE SQUARE – Decatur Deputy Fire Chief Deroy Bennett said he would like all structures on the town’s Square protected with sprinkler systems in an effort to preserve them, as well as to make downtown buildings safer for citizens and firefighters. Three buildings on the Square recently have been retrofitted with sprinkler systems – 109 N. State St. (formerly Floors N More), 113 N. State St. (formerly South Beach Taco) and 106 N. Trinity St. (soon-to-open Reunion on the Square). The lack of a sprinkler system in a building in the square has already deterred at least one restaurant from moving downtown.

Ok - in the interest of transparency, which restaurant is this? And I'm sure the Messenger has done all of its fact-checking on thins.

What exactly is a "tramp stamp"?

The deal with Obama is, anyone could have been elected after Bush caused a darn near depression, so Obama was elected, not because he was good, but because Bush applied what little he could remember from high school economics to the real advanced hedge fund political world. However, Obama has "grown" int a real executive. He has shown he can run a massive civil and military force, as a commander and chief mind you. While he is pure democrat through and through....he WILL be reelected because, by a slim margin, people will want an experienced leader...not saying we wil vote for him.....but he will be reelected.

I've always been leery of people who use the term "mind you".

The only things Obama has "grown into" is a human punching bag and a gray head of hair.

False hope and negative change.

I'm convinced that the only people still defending this guy are the family of antoine dodson and the residents of Bombay Beach California.

The people of Wise County and Texas are so rightwing they are out of touch with the rest of the country. Obama will win, narrowly. The real question is, will the congress get rid of the goofy teapartiers?

We'd be able to get Obama out the White House if we could figure out a way to put just one Ghost in there.

commenter @ 8:30 -
nothing you said makes any sense.

If Obama is re-elected by a narrow margin, that means that about half the country is voting for the conservative (or the lesser of two evils, whatever). Which means that Wise County would be out of touch with only the other half of the country - the liberals who vote for Obama. As a Wise Countian, I'm thankful for that.
Congress doesn't have anything to do with getting rid of party offshoots. If you're referring to elected members who identify with TeaParty ideals, that's determined by voters

Courtney> future porn star!!

TF, what you seem to miss is the presidential election is decided by the electoral college vote. I'm suggesting that that vote as well as the popular vote will be close but will go to Obama. You'd never get that impression listening to Wise County folks. The individual congressional races will need to flush out obstructionist tea partiers for the country to actually progress.
