Edit from the email bag: "Ok just got report from mom on her lunch break. Locked the classrooms down and went room to room patting down kids and making them empty pockets. All administration is there and they are still doing it. Rumor is some kid said another one was selling dope up there so they are trying to catch him with the goods . . . . "

They used to do that all the time when I was in high school, except they didn't lock the school down, and they didn't make you empty your pockets. The dog just came in and checked everything out, and then left and checked all the lockers.
I didn't know they didn't do that anymore. They should.

Marijuana doesn't hurt anyone, right? It should be legal, right?So why not simply pass it out at schools? No? If not, why not? C'mon all y'all weed supporters...stay true to your beliefs, and go argue at the next school board meeting that weed is not a problem and kids should be allowed to have it whenever and wherever. And please have the ability to recognize sarcasm when you see it.

chico just keeps geeting worse. think about it.every year its something. does it get better? hmmmmmmmmm i dont think so. coaches getting fired,kids going to jail and lets not forget the ones that are using and selling at the fine school of chico. they should have been doing these searches all along.
We give kids drugs that are way worse than pot! Every other child takes something for add, ADHD, depression, anxiety, etc etc so what's the difference? What's in the pill bottle is way more dangerous than that plant!
The coach should have been fired long ago.....we needed a change and the change has been great so far. To bad our principal doesnt have discipline like the new Ad does.Drug searches go on all over the county. Chico is no worse than Boyd, Alvord, Paradise, Bridgeport or Decatur.

There was no patting down of kids....they were instructed to empty their pockets and exit the room. Law states that the dog cant sniff the students...so they wer escorted out of teh room.
The principal should have been fired right before the football coach. He is useless. Can I get hell yeah on that on!

The coaching change is going to have nothing to do with any sucess in chico football. you can send don shula in there and he wouldn't be able to win with the bunch of disrespectful kids at that school. if they do manage to win a few games this season it will not be due to the coach change, it will be because they have been bumped down a class, forgot that part huh?

The staff should have been searched 1st. That is where the problems are. But I don't know if the dogs can sniff out incompetence...

Chico has lots of good kids and parents and a few good teachers. A new principal wouldn't hurt a thing. It would need to be someone who consistently enforces rules for both students and faculty. It's hard for students to take new rules about no cell phones seriously when most of the teachers are rolling their eyes or telling the kids wait of couple of weeks and this will die down. It is also ridiculous that the HS Principal has so little interest in discipline that he allows Freshman through Seniors to leave the closed lunch campus daily in masses and return blatantly in front of him and the faculty with sacks from Chicken Express and/or Taco Mayo. But as long as teachers discuss with students the rumored integrity issues of administration with faculty members there will be no respect for the Principal. Live a respectable life, tell the truth and good things will follow.
...a word of warning to all persons visiting Chico High School....DO NOT ENTER THE SCHOOL WITHOUT A PERMISSION SLIP. Even though the notation on the door and the rule in the student handbook both state that you only need to notify the office of your presence, you will experience huge issues without the printed pass that the office doesn't know how to print. BEWARE!!!
Close the place down and send them all to Bridgeport where they can "ACT" like good kids while they smoke weed behind the curtains on the stage in the commons area.
